I don't understand the thinking in Muamba's camp last year when they were on that tour. Could they not see the bonus was scheduled AFTER  FA? With Ellsworth and Woods in tow, it was a bit of a bait and switch scheme. Now, no team will touch him until the 16th, after a few teams have spent their planned monies. With his tweet on 'finding he was being offered up in trade talks,' it sounds like he wasn't expecting this.

Should have just come home last year big boy, should have just come home..

We could have used Henoc last season when we were actually still in a playoff race. Ya he said when he left he wanted to be back here blah, blah, but ditched us for a few extra bucks. Turns out his new team and deal wasn't too good after all. Sorry Henoc, don't feel too sorry for you

the situation entering FA might have been different,  but Walter could have easily done the same thing Jones did after a 5-13 season but rather then blow up the roster immediately after november, chose to keep most of the roster intact, load up on FA then make necessary changes.

I dont think the need to revamp was much different.  If anything Id say with our current scouts track record, the need of the bombers to load up in FA was more dire then that of Jones/Murphy who both have a decent scouting track record

I agree, yet here's something I don't get - when Cauchy was here he played like hot garbage, and yet he goes to Edmonton and wins a Cup?  What???

System?  Coaches?  Players around him?

Many players look bad on bad teams and good on good teams.  Many players look good on bad teams and bad on good teams. Takes an entire team to win the grey cup.

As for Henoc Muamba.. he is a really good, ratio breaking player.  But he has an expensive ONE year contract and is young enough to have a conceivable chance at trying the NFL again after this season (whether it is likely at this point or not).  It would be stupid for a team to leverage a potential future player (draft pick) for a large chunk of salary and a temporary player unless they truly felt that he was the piece that would take them over the top THIS YEAR.

Yes he does!!  And if we signed him, I'd move him to RT because Bryant is better...  see previous post...

So you would sign a guy for really big bucks and then tell him he will have to play out of position. IIRC Bourke has never played RT and switching to the other side of the o-line would be quite an adjustment. He'd have to change his footwork, re-learn his angles, etc. No guarantees that he would be as good at RT as he is at LT.

Bourke at RT would have been great... would take that over Medlock and Cummings.

A lifetime 87% kicker will win us a lot more games than either (a) a top Canadian LT out of position in place of a decent Import RT; or (b) a top Canadian LT in place of a top Import LT.

The fact that we have much stronger potential Canadian starters this season, means that there's no need to put Bourke in place of Bryant, even if their skillset is a wash. Plus, their salaries sure as heck wouldn't be a wash!

Ain't that the truth. Herb Zurkowsky is saying Bourke will get between $230,000 and $240,000 from the Argos. We got Bryant for around $160,000 last season.

exactly.  there is no promise that he can play the position as effectively as LT. some tackles can and have done so in the past but its more an added bonus then an expectation..
