Former UFC champ Josh Barnett shared his experience from a few years ago (2019) where he had to cut ties with Phil because of his erratic behaviour.

Same as football players or anyone who repeatedly takes blows to the head really. Not everyone shows signs though and even fewer go completely off the deep end like this. Now that more and more athletes are donating their brains to science when they pass, it'll be interesting to see what (if anything) the research shows in that regard.
