November 24, 20159 yr comment_170720 Apparently he still live in Winnipeg. He does. They just had Lapo & Climie on the Jets game. Lapo was decked out in Jets gear and Orelesky mentioned that he still lives here.
November 24, 20159 yr comment_170726 I think Lapo realizes if he stays out of the coaching game too long he ain't getting back in and as his wife and kids live in Wpg. it's a good fit for him. I have no opinion whether he is the best choice for OC or not but I'm confident he will be better than the last guy cause he just couldn't possibly be worse.
November 24, 20159 yr comment_170732 The consensus is that becoming the coach in Regina is a suicide mission at present. Crappy talent and a GM who is a very suspect rookie, so-its a no- win situation there. Sounds strangely familiar- think the Riders will use the O'Shea excuse?
November 24, 20159 yr comment_170742 LaPo feels like an uninspired choice. Would have rather gone with a new, younger offensive guy. Think overall LaPo is pretty conservative. That said I thought he did a good job adding wrinkles to the offense weekly when he was here as a HC, but then just didn't have the personnel.
November 24, 20159 yr comment_170745 Lapo is about a half step up from Bellefeuille. I woulda been fine if he was the initial guy, but he's definitely not the upgrade guy.
November 24, 20159 yr comment_170747 "Better than Bellefeuille" is not much of a compliment. The only significant upside is that he would be next in line to replace O'Shea when he stumbles.
November 24, 20159 yr comment_170748 Name guy. TSN. Living in Winnipeg. Step up Or lateral? LaPofeuille. Bald. No excitement. Coach's playbook. Rerun. Leery, I am.
November 24, 20159 yr comment_170750 "Better than Bellefeuille" is not much of a compliment. The only significant upside is that he would be next in line to replace O'Shea when he stumbles. How on earth is that upside???
November 24, 20159 yr comment_170762 Today on 1290 radio, Lawless stated categorically that LaPolice would be named as the new OC with the Bombers. Apparently he still live in Winnipeg. That would be hugely disappointing to me.

November 24, 20159 yr comment_170764 "Better than Bellefeuille" is not much of a compliment. The only significant upside is that he would be next in line to replace O'Shea when he stumbles. Ah geez! That's even worse.
November 24, 20159 yr comment_170765 "Better than Bellefeuille" is not much of a compliment. He is certainly worse than Lapo. But barely.
November 24, 20159 yr comment_170766 Sounds like Murphy might end up being the Sask GM That likely means Sask will be a more talented team than we are next year. Sigh.
November 24, 20159 yr comment_170767 At least we'll have some cash from the Grey Cup to pay our stadium loan payments.
November 24, 20159 yr comment_170770 LaPo as OC....seriously? Another exhaustive search for the best possible candidate comes to an end? More like a crash and burn.
November 24, 20159 yr comment_170773 Sucks for us. We always miss the boat. Not really we had the guy and dumped him. Also Lapolice is the easy / lazy hire that will appease the fans. I just don't see why the guy would want to work with this club..its uninspired.
November 24, 20159 yr comment_170774 Lapo looks like a freakin offensive genius on TV. But he has an entire half of football to look at replays and think about what he's going to say. As a coach he's never proven himself to be a good game manager where you have to make quick decisions nor did he excel at managing the clock at the end of the game. I just cant stop thinking that this is going to be a huge mistake.
November 24, 20159 yr comment_170775 LaPo feels like an uninspired choice. Would have rather gone with a new, younger offensive guy. Think overall LaPo is pretty conservative. That said I thought he did a good job adding wrinkles to the offense weekly when he was here as a HC, but then just didn't have the personnel. I think in this instance the Bombers can't afford another "swing and a miss".If they have another bad year Icould see attendance falling off dramatically. Sometimes safe and uninspired is better.Lapo is at worst a competent OC.
November 24, 20159 yr comment_170777 Sucks for us. We always miss the boat. Typical...Murphy could crash and burn just as easily as he succeeds and makes the Riders a contender again. And quite frankly are the Riders that bad? Next year they'll have Durant back which was probably 90% of their problem this year. But again certain people here will applaud whatever change another team makes but will **** on whatever the Bombers do. There's a saying about a "leopard never changes its spots".
November 24, 20159 yr comment_170780 Lapo is too conservative and plays not to lose, not excited by this move if true.
November 24, 20159 yr comment_170782 LaPo as OC....seriously? Another exhaustive search for the best possible candidate comes to an end? More like a crash and burn. This is my main concern, who else did they even talk to??? Obviously not Jason Maas, Tommy Condell or Steve McAdoo.
