June 23, 201510 yr comment_127467 LJ shell is at worst a highly productive Ster, strong veteran presence to bring along our young lbs, a flexible guy who can play a few positions, and a guy whose good for the locker room. I dont blame people for knee jerking to conclusions like romby, kuale, etc. But i dont think he'd be any of that at his very worst. This kind of reminds me of ritchie bringing in a bunch of vets early in his time here. (coleman, mcgriggs etc)

Aside from his bad penalty I heard Gibson get some props from Irving and co. Seemed about as effective as Peach and Westerman. But the regular season will be a better indicator if Gibson will be good for us. And as for the price we paid for him, Alex Suber was released by the Argos. Gibson is still playing and fills a need for us. At this point it's a good trade for the Bombers. I do agree though it did take a while for him to show up. But I don't know offhand what the story was behind that. Family issues?

June 23, 201510 yr comment_127529 From a purely roster building for on-field talent perspective Lin-J may not be the absolute best player we could have acquired. He is a capable player though. From a team building/locker room perspective is where he adds a ton of value. Everything I have read about him says he is a dressing room "glue guy" that works hard, and is very well liked in the dressing rooms he has played in. Bringing in a capable veteran that will aid in the leadership department may not show up on the stat sheet, but it is exactly the type of acquisitions that can greatly aid a young team get confidence as it learns to win. The lack of these type of roster moves, is what cost Mack his job imo. I am glad that it appears Walters gets that building a team is more than just a straight acquisition of talent. You need the intangibles as well. Lin-J may not have much gas in the tank as a player, but he brings intangibles to a young team.

I was referring to the former Argos from last year specifically, and Gibson didn't step on the field in 2014 for the Bombers.... so of all of the Argos that came here in 2014 only JFG was the only one that was good for the Bombers... If Gibson turns out this year great but he was a bust in 2014
