Posted March 23, 201510 yr comment_112837 @DarrinBauming: I am told Jordan Reaves, son of former CFL MOP running back Willard Reaves, has been placed on the #Bombers negotiation list. @DarrinBauming: Reaves (6'5" 215lbs) worked out for the #Bombers last week as a receiver, and took part in the CFL's regional combine in Edmonton today. @DarrinBauming: Reaves' measurables from the Edmonton regional #CFLCombine: 40-yard dash: 4.69 Vertical: 35" Broad jump: 10'1" Bench: 19 3-cone: 7.06 @DarrinBauming: @garrettbillan1 He is. Born, raised, and educated right here in Manitoba. A good read: http://www.cklq.com/index.php?id=74&tx_ttnews%5Btt_news%5D=7229&cHash=c0cb771b11c9b08c8ce2307fed508482
March 23, 201510 yr Author comment_112839 Isn't this old news? No. He worked out for the Bombers and Eskimos recently. Looks like the Bombers were impressed with what they saw.
March 24, 201510 yr comment_112879 Well, we have to take a flyer on one of the greatest bombers Evers offspring.. No? Can't complain about this move..
March 24, 201510 yr comment_112882 @DarrinBauming: Reaves' measurables from the Edmonton regional #CFLCombine: 40-yard dash: 4.69 Vertical: 35" Broad jump: 10'1" Bench: 19 3-cone: 7.06 For comparison, here's how he ranked against the 8 other WR's at the combine: 40: 2nd (top guy had 4.65) Vertical: Tied for 4th (top guy had 37.5") Broad Jump: 2nd (top guy had 10'4") Bench: 2nd (top guy had 20) 3 Cone: 2nd (top guy had 7.03) Bauming didn't include his shuttle time which was 4.52 and ranked him 5th (top guy had 4.35)
March 24, 201510 yr comment_112894 I don't see a reality where Reaves ever plays for the Bombers, but hey...he's a homegrown NI project. If by some miracle he can learn the ins and outs of being a professional receiver why not.
March 24, 201510 yr comment_112896 In the off season the Jets just need to trade for Ryan Reaves and Alex Steen and we are all good. 2017 - draft Ben Hawerchuk in the first round. When are Teemu's kids draft eligible?
March 24, 201510 yr comment_112897 Did he do the 1 on 1s at the Edmonton regional or just tested? Pretty sure I saw him in some of the footage they showed on TSN doing 1 on 1s against Janke.
March 24, 201510 yr comment_112901 He's big, he's athletic, he's got the right passport. The Bombers have something to gain, and absolutely nothing to lose.

You are assuming our neg list was full, or didn't contain names that were highly improbable. As MBRG said, each team has it's Tim Tebow's on their list. Someone you stick on their on the off chance they ever end up in the CFL. However, the odds are extremely long against it happening. Reaves name can always be dropped.

March 24, 201510 yr comment_112929 Neg list changes on probably a daily basis, I doubt it's 100% full at all times but I agree that hopefully it is full the majority of the time.
March 24, 201510 yr comment_112934 This story has the potential to be another good news story of the year. Hard work ahead for the young man, but athleticism is athleticism, and he can do it. Can you imagine having a Deputy Reaves on the roster?
March 25, 201510 yr comment_113052 Not even HS. I think they said he hadn't played since he was about 12.
March 25, 201510 yr comment_113055 So what exactly has he been doing other than being Willard's kid and having a brother in the NHL?
March 25, 201510 yr comment_113056 This is an excerpt of an article a certain member posted at TEP: The former MVP with the men's basketball team is returning to football for the first time since he was 15-year-old and is coming off a tryout with his hometown Winnipeg Blue Bombers where the 6-foot-5, 215 pounder worked out as a receiver.
March 25, 201510 yr comment_113058 So what exactly has he been doing other than being Willard's kid and having a brother in the NHL? Tearing it up on the basketball court, apparently.
