Taynted's Highway Star got me thinking about this album, the only Black Sabbath with Ian Gillen on vocals.  A lotta people bag on this record, but I think it's fantastic and that cover is perfect ugly.

Voivod! Weirdo Northern Quebecois jazz/progressive/thrash metal. Loved this guys forever but had never seen them headline a club gig until last weekend. This song was a highlight. 

They're playing Winnipeg and Thunder Bay (!!!!) soon.

Saw these guys open for KoRn, alongside Hellyeah. Pretty tight. I didn't even know they were Canadian. Bonus points!

Damn! I love me some Big Sugar... they are playing at Harbourfest at the end of July alongside Our Lady Peace. I'm definitely going to try to make it out to that one.

 

 

I still can't get enough of the new 'The Kills' stuff.... this is one catchy chorus. Be warned, this one can get stuck in your head very easily.

Some of you guys are into pretty intense music...

I just bought the new Jeff Lynne (ELO) album. I'm not even 40 yet, but that's more my speed.

 

The older I get (just passed the 36 mark this year...) the more I find myself leaning toward this sound on a regular basis.....

I was just listening to house of the rising sun the other day in class,  I swear there was a great cover of it,  not by 5 finger death punch either.  I almost want to say Corey Taylor/Stone Sour but i think they only do Wicked Game and Gimme Shelter
