Not a country music fan at all, but Chris Stapleton coming to Winnipeg as the only Canadian stop on his tour is pretty cool. That guy has one of the best voices in music, IMO.

  • By most accounts that I've seen, he was a democrat.  He was loud and proud about his patriotism, but he was less conservative than most people thought.

thanks! great music. hope they come to wpg.

...the lead guitarist is from Dauphin. Played Winnipeg just a few months ago opening for Gord Bamford at Club Regent. Great band, for sure. The lead singer, Ryan Langlois, was a finalist on Canadian Idol in one of its first seasons.

Johnny Paycheck, has to be one of the most emotional   singers ever. That song is so frickin sad.

Don't know if  there's any popular music that conveys sadness as well as country music. Not for me anyway.

Texas Country is about the only REAL Country left. I like to add some stuff that generally only appears on the Texas charts to my playlist. Spinning the new Sunny Sweeney/Will Hoge duet ("My Bed") and the new Ray Scott ("Ain't Always Thirsty") in regular rotation right now. Just absolutely killer, PURE COUNTRY songs...
