Posted March 13, 201411 yr comment_44240 I'm going with 5 years ... 3 if Dejardins remains GM for more than 2 seasons ... signed #kevinglennshacker
March 13, 201411 yr comment_44241 I hope the team lasts for a long time, I wanna see a 10 team league soon... maybe even 12 in the next 10-15 years would be great... As far as how long Desjardins will last... that's a different story... it would have to be a colossal disaster for him get fired this year but you never know...
March 13, 201411 yr comment_44245 new stadium... new TV contract... no reason to be so pessimistic even given prior failures.
March 13, 201411 yr comment_44246 Its going to last a long time with the it being part of a group of teams. Having the junior team, soccer team and football team under one umbrella gives them a lot more financial flexibility.
March 13, 201411 yr comment_44247 This has got to be one of the dumbest thread ideas I've ever seen on the internet. What is the purpose of this thread to be funny ?

March 13, 201411 yr comment_44249 I hope Ottawa never folds again, as I too would like to see a 10 team league at some point. I think an even better question is: Who wins the cup first? Winnipeg or Ottawa?
March 13, 201411 yr comment_44250 A great deal of success of this venture is related to the overall commercial development of the site. That will drive this team. Similar to Asper's plan for the site of the old stadium. The difference being that the Ottawa location is more viable on the banks of the Rideau Canal.
March 13, 201411 yr comment_44251 This thread seems unnecessarily pessimistic, just for the sake of being an *******. Now, i'm usually all in favour of that scenario, but ehhh...
March 13, 201411 yr comment_44253 For the sake of league growth, potential and exposure, I want and hope for the Ottawa team to be run in a sustainable manner for the long run. I see no reason why it shouldn't with the right owners and business plan.
March 13, 201411 yr comment_44257 new stadium... new TV contract... no reason to be so pessimistic even given prior failures. Bluto's right. The improving TV deals the CFL is getting is making the league less-and-less dependent on gate. People in Ottawa like football. They've finally got owners that are not named Glieberman. I hope they're a permanent fixture, and that it leads to Quebec City or Atlantic expansion within 5 years.
