February 3, 201411 yr comment_37300 The notion is to leave yourself cap space at the end of the season for a couple if reasons. Firstly it allows you to sign players like Turner. You also need to allow yourself some margin if cushion because the CFL auditor has the ultimate discretion as to cap inclusions and exceptions. A Clubs internal audit may be close but the CFL has the final say. Try and cut it to thin and you could be over. Check and see what other teams had signings in Dec. to use up cap space.

And there are also reports out of Edmonton that new Eskimos head coach Chris Jones isn't yet entirely sold on the prolific -- but also wildly inconsistent -- Mike Reilly as his undisputed starter for 2014.

If Hervey cut him in favour of Burris I'd hope that Walters would be on the next flight to Washington State to pay the Reilly family a visit.
