It's almost like he's not that good of a quarterback and he only gets chances because teams are desperate...

People will hate this, but I think he’s a lot like Matt Nichols. Has played some of his best football late in the year, not great with the deep ball, very reliant on a couple basic concepts (timing routes at seams vs check downs and screens) etc.

Nichols didn’t have the last play chokes, but the 19/21 Ds we had were some thing else. If Fajardo didn’t run into us, he probably has atleast 1 more ring and two more gc games.

I need to stock up on popcorn...for when Fajardo signs with the Bombers...

if reasonably priced every team in the league would take him as a back up. That’s what he is at his best imo. Really good back up and stop gap solution. Let him run the short yardage etc, develop a better passer like Wilson behind him.

I don't hate the comparison... but imo Nichols was better. Also a way better attitude.

I agree, but we also need to concede that Nichols had a much better supporting cast

Bryant in his prime, with Bond beside him at LG, later on Desjarlais - those guys were just outstanding

Pretend you're the Als, you've made the decision that Alexander is your future and you'd like Cody to come back as a just in case (and to not end up as a back-up especially in Hamilton or Ottawa where it could burn you), what do you offer him and what would you realistically pay? Freak injuries happen, they may be in dire need of Fajardo if the SHTF.

Price would be the biggest issue, fit would not, as a QB duo Cody and Zach would be great if used intelligently as a tandem, he can do everything Strev. was supposed to do.

No the biggest issue is that he's a career 3rd stringer cosplaying a starter.... If Booch and that clan really wanted something to ***** at Osh about, it's that they allowed Faj to be a GC MOP... That's the most damning statement ever.

I’d hope Wilson evolves enough to be QB2. If not I’d be cool with an open competition between Fajardo/MBT and Dole Banana for the vet backup spot.

I like the first part of your sentence, not so much the second part. 🙂

I'm still mesmerized by Wilson's arm. I'm hoping there's potential to develop this and other aspects of his game.

I have no idea where all this Streveler negativity came from, but it seems to have shown up outta the blue right around playoff time this year. No idea what's driving it... He's costing us next to nothing, cap-wise, and could still be our future starter in 2025.

Why do people all of a sudden think he sucks and is too expensive? Because he blew out every ligament in his knee? Or because Buck and the staff chose to use him as a bulldozer only?

Don't forget the all telegraphed decoy use. (shudder).

The amount backup QB's are paid could be redefined this off-season, $200-$250k seems about right, with the starter salaries being dragged back down to around $400-$450k.

A lot of experienced backup options potentially available.

Maier

Shiltz

MBT

Ford

Fajardo

Arbuckle

Strev.

Crum

Masoli

Powell

No thanks.

Argos suck.

We want the cup back.

Maybe this should be our mantra for the upcoming season.

Maybe $200 with bonuses that bring him back to what he previously made if he plays and performs could do it.

I dislike seeing Arbuckle on there. I think (and hope) that RD has him coming back though. Chad is our starter, but it was such a weird break that having a GC winning backup would bring us some peace of mind.

Come and take it if you can.

EDIT: And you're right. Argos do suck, from the Grey Cup.

Based on how he acted at the end of the season he'll be toxic in that role.

They'll have some better options of guys who can play and might end up winning a bit of a competitive situation.  Like Maier.

you'd seriously take two-game wonder Crum over legit CFL starter MBT?

Like say we got Dinwiddied and had to play a Grey Cup with no QB1 -- you'd really rather trot out Crum as a starter than MBT?

I do not get the hate.  Everyone on MBB is always clowning the dude but I've never seen a legit reason to write him off.  Did those ancestors punch everyone's grandad in the junk or something?

Crum is actually the only guy on that list who's a hard no from me.  We've seen his ceiling and it ain't very high.

Not real keen on Fajardo either.  I have some empathy for that guy because Alexander's rise means he's out his $200K roster bonus and that's really gotta sting in a life-altering way ... but still I think you have to suck it up when you're talking publicly about your teammates.
