Osh comments on the Montreal dribble thing:

respectfully disagree.  kudos to Montreal for finding a weird gap in the rulebook and exploiting it, but they've had their fun and I would hate to see a game-winning drive in the Grey Cup feature that tactic.

No worries about GC trickery, Antwi the one player that has successfully executed that play was traded to the Stamps.  If the Stamps make the GC bigger tricks  will have gone down.

Fun to sit and watch practice today... Been about 20 years since I was last able. With respect to the late great Randy Turner, the king of Odds and Sods writing.... here's some thoughts: -Al

Really easy to always say that there's some mystical coach out there that would be a better fit.  We've been through generations as CFL fans watching teams including our own who keep believing that.

I wanna say 2018 maybe early 2019 was the last time we saw that kind of stuff from mos. He’s gotten real conservative with the gc rings.

Complacent...in many ways...and the success...or lack there of due to it when all said and done of late is apparent...time for Osh to get back to how he used to do things to a certain extent....he used to piss fans and other teams off before with is keen knowledge on rules and ways to exploit them....why the change?...

MOS relied on trickery a lot more before the team started to get good around 2017, after that he dropped the tricks and beat them with better football.  If I'm not mistaken he acted as his own STC for the first few years, where a lot of the trick plays were deployed.

Didn't see it mentioned anywhere but Makonzo was added to the 6 game injured list a couple days ago. ☹️

Ya it looked pretty bad at the time. We thought wrist, in the moment, but hard to say. Was on the opposite side of the field from us. He went up for the ball and came down hard on his hands (to brace himself for impact)...

No wonder Calgary is at or near the bottom of the league, with players like Dedrick Mills who says today, he will never spend another winter in Canada, specifically Cal.... Says he was freezing and that it was just too much to handle....LOL...what a candy ass....IF he had to spend a winter in the Peg, he'd never come back..Guess he's just not tough enough and the type Dickie boy likes on his club

It would help Smith, Shay and Griffen would it not? Smith and Griffen because they can play SAM and Smith and Shay because Canadians who can take lb reps.

Honestly don't think it makes much of a difference.  Opens up a spot for a special teamer.  Makonzo is a depth piece.

What a wuss. We had temps here at YYC in the plus teens in January & February. Snow was gone the first week of March. I'm sure if he was playing in Buffalo, Chicago, Green Bay, Cleveland or Minneapolis, he'd have no problem.

How worried should I be that Myron Mitchell is the apparent camp standout?

Well if he has stepped up and progressed that's nothing but a good thing as a second yr in system guy...u could see last yr he had a huge learning curve about CFL game...and I was/am less than inspired in who we brought in to replace Lawler...Wilson...Drew and unknown in Schoen...it's a weak group save for Demski and Clercius coming back...a butt load of hopium in 2..or 3 guys

Is camp running tomorrow.

Looking to pop in as have some free time

I take it as a good thing. Dude stuck around on the PR all last season. He seems like maybe he needed time to learn but who knows so if he’s the guy he’s the guy but gotta do it on game day not just practice. The pre season will determine who starts at receiver I’m sure. Cuz right now I’d take what they are saying with a grain of salt tho. Does appear to be some openings at receiver tho. May the best man or men win.

Bombers sign Kevin pointer out of wake forest. (Vegas rookie camp this year) 6’1 285lbs dt. He’s a fast for his size, very high motor 3 tech who is a tackling machine. Not a nose or a big pass rusher though he projects much better as a pass rusher here than down south.

Pretty good stats for a DT coming out of the ACC, looks like he was a team captain in 2024 as well. Really good looking prospect, got the right body type for a CFL DT imo.

Yeah, he brings a ton to camp. Ideal 3tech type guy up here, if he can turn into a decent pass rusher from the 3. His weak punch knock will be offset by playing against Canadian guards.
Hes also a guy that could likely play 4i in the 30 front.
Hes got similar physical size and tool set to Casey Sayles. Isn’t as polished as a pass rusher but much better in run d.
