wouldn't tops in the league redzone efficiency kind of indicate your QB was outstanding???....Not sure what 6th in the league indicates...definitely not outstanding

Says to me that the Argos are lucky they have a good defence. I guess bottom line for me to qualify as most outstanding is demonstrating the ability to put the team on your back and drag them to victory. Can anyone truly say that Kelly was the difference between winning and losing in any Argo game this year? I don't think so. They are just a very well rounded team that needs a game manager to be a winning team. Like BC last year, Toronto had the benefit of having the cheapest starting QB to enter the season and therefore to sign/re-sign players last offseason. Next year Chad will be making 600k and it will cost the Argos a few good players to pay him that. He better turn into that guy that can put a team on his back because he won't have the same well oiled machine around him.

Frankie Williams had the most memorable highlight, just not the way he wishes.  Never. Gets. Old.

  • Didn't like Proulx when he first became a head referee, but IMO he has morphed into the best head ref the league has.

  • Just came across this forum and signed up to join in on the conversation on the roster. Was reading some of the stuff people commented about on the PR shrinking and ADS and Agudosi getting picked

Not imo. That’s more about WRs and play call. As stated starting field position is a huge deal. Some years no qb is outstanding too.

Ideally to rate an out standing qb I would look at stats like attempts per td, completions per game, yards per attempt, and turn overs per snap to get an idea of how much the offence relies on the qb and how prolific they are at producing. 2nd down conversions, 2 and outs, and sacks/hits/pressures are big as well.

Some food for thought. The 21 bombers had a very similar dominant D, and great return game. We had a shorter season that coincides with the Argos sitting him a bunch and both strong run games.

2021 Zach

243/346 70.2% 3185yards 9.2avg 20 tds 6 picks 111 rating.

2023 chad

270/394 67.4% 4123yards 10.5avg 23 tds 12 picks 109.3 rating.

Kelly still had a bunch more opportunities, but was leaned on significantly less, and put up more turn overs. 21 Zach was a classic qb mop season. 23 Kelly reminds me a lot of Trevor Harris but on a great team.

Osh, Brady O and Yoshi make it through in all possible categories!

So happy for BO....And Yosh....as he prob could have won it himself several times, but pretty tough when you play with the Lineman whom this award at some point will get named after

Smarter heads obviously prevailed when voters looked at total body of work, consistency and importance to team

yes and no....the One yr with ZC thre was literally nobody in the league that put up any numbers worthy of a nomination

I agree a bit on it's a team game, and recievers/rb can make a redzone more effective, also tho, as teams switch their scheme on defence that QB has to make a read/decision a lot quicker, and at times fir balls into really tight windows....also not just choke.....I don't see a lot of that In kelly yet..

ha...didnt even see that....but really....nobody in the West was deserving....You got the Brothers Incompetant...Assbag Jones, and knucklehead IN BC who I cant even think of his name as I write this...whose team wilted and showed lack of discipline all yr.

I think tho MAAS should be the winner, especially taking a team that had to pretty much start any signings, and recruiting well after anyone else due to the ownership issue there, and had some big time players leave due to that uncertainty

Dinwiddie wins this year.

he shouldn't, but he will, for sure... same with Kelly as MOP. Shouldn't, but will. Whatever... I honestly think Osh prefers it this way. Get overlooked on an individual basis, rally around each other for the big prize.

Was thinking that, now maybe I'm just a big old Dave Ritchie fan but let the argos win all the awards and get a huuuge chip on the Bombers shoulder. Sort of like how Hamilton was soooooo great in 2019 and won all the awards.

We didn't just win, we whooped their asses, and we knew we were going to do it!

Brady should be MOP and MOC but likely just gets MOC because the media is full of idiots.

Dinwiddie, off topic but does anybody else think he does not look ok healthwise when watching on tv?

there's a few of us on here that have been chatting about it...... there's some telltale signs, for sure. Don't want to speculate, just hope that he's okay and getting any help that he needs.

yup....not to say it is so...but the red nose, and it being somewhat enlarged makes one think he could have an issue....and the fact he looks like he has aged immensely over the past 3 yrs...hope all is ok

Perfect reminder that football/sport is a distant second to what's really important at the EOD.

I think Yoshi also wins and frankly he deserves to be recognized

my thinking is that if you beat out Stan for MOOL, then you deserve the league award.... I just have zero faith in the national football media to ever do the right thing.

Likely true. I expect the Argos to clean out most of the awards.

I think you’re right too that he will win.

I think as much as the media is humping Toronto’s leg, Brady is a better story and they know it. Canadian dominating a largely imp position one of the best rb seasons ever and a repeat viral sensation for animal rescue. Plus just a classy dude and extremely marketable. Kelly didn’t do more than most of the young QBs who have a big first season as a regular starter lately. Vaj rourke fajardo Kelly is middle of that pack as a first year full time qb1.
No one is even close to Brady right now.

Cripes...the Faj out rushed him...threw the same amount of pics as Kelly...was close in yardage....and he was hardly outstanding...so by those metrics...stats which a lot of our bozo media use to validate their picks..Kelly doesnt deserve it compared to BO...
