You can be assured that it is very unlikely that they will be taken alive.

I find it odd that this isn't a bigger deal and wasn't being blasted on all media?

Yeah, the "but" is usually used to invalidate someone's statement or stance. I found it odd, because it didn't invalidate or come at odds with my statement with it making the international rounds.
