I am not expecting this coming Friday's battle to be a defensive battle but rather quite the opposite.  A surprising Masoli is going to be met by an even more surprising Streveler at QB.

Andrew Harris is due to explode but will he match the production of upstart Canadian Mercer Timmis?

Nic Demski is also due  for a game changing billing in the way little 5'7" Brandon Banks has been doing for the Tabbies.

Now Ritchie Hall is saying for the Bombers to be successful our defensive front 7 have to stay in their passing lanes. That could be the real difference maker. Sheesh!

What a game coming up....

You expect sensible callers on CJOB?

  • I'm not in love with a guy who makes 5 tackles as a DB. I'd rather see him make 0. The statistics for Gaitor in week 1 were awful. I don't have them in front of me right now but Reilly completed

Good thing that no one here has suggested that very thing...

Should be a fun game. You're right, this isn't the sad sack Montreal Allouettes.  Don't see Timmis as much of a factor.  I could see them throwing swing passes all day to try to get away from our d-line/linebackers.  Get the ball in the hands of their speedy playmakers and test the talent of our DBs to come up and make a tackle. They handled Edmonton fairly well.  Should be a really close.  The other games next week are looking interesting too.

OTT @ CGY - Two teams that are coming off big wins.  Gotta think the winner of this game will be the top of near the top in the power rankings.
BC @ EDM - Rested bye week team coming up against an already beat up Edmonton squad.  Does Edmonton slide to 1-2?
MTL @ SSK - Sask should be the favourites by quite a bit here.  Dud of the week.

And man if the riders lose wont that be fun...reading their fan site would be soooooo entertaining.

U never know..that Mtl defense may come in really ticked off with something to prove..they have a lot of talent there and aren't nearly as bad as they showed against us...and Saskatchewan offense isn't close to being as good as ours.

If they put heat on whoever the sask qb is ..and they will cause their oline is putrid it could be a long day there. Also think they will lean more on sutton..and he will have a heyday against the weak interior of the sask defence

Riders still has a better QB'ing between the two.

never underestimate a team thats been blown out at home the next week. Often extreme out comes lead to a balancing out in the next game. The als might surprise and we might be in a low scoring last drive wins situation.

Als might be the worst team in CFL history.. They appear to be built around me first players.

The riders are built around worse character then the als over all. The als still have a ton of threats on offense and a bunch of good players on D. I expect they will have a big slug fest that will be more then a lil chippy.

The 2013 Blue Bombers say hello. ;)

Even in that dismal team you can see evidence of this. Blown out by calgary, bounce back against montreal. Blown out on LD, bounce back to win in BJB.

In this era of athletes, the difference between elite teams and bottom dwellers is seldom over all talent level. Its preparation, motivation, work ethic etc. Top teams tend to have better distributions of talent, but you still have a ton of big time play makers on the worst teams in the league right now. The 3 teams that dont make the play offs will still get wins. And there is always a good chance that win will come off a big loss.

Because nothing motivates, fuels you to get your self into a better situation and work to prepare then getting punched in the mouth.

For my money bc, montreal, and ssk are the three teams poised to be the bottom tier of the league. But its still early and they can fight out of that position.
