Hope they can get him to Toronto, and hope he can stick with it there.

They need something to get people going to games, and interested in the team/league, Johnny  would help quite a bit with that.

Would not go nuts money wise but if he would agree to a reasonable contract I would do it. Him and Donny O were a good combo could be the same with Thomas.

He definitely did fall out of the rotation last year. But I'd be pretty happy with him and Thomas as a combination locking down one DT spot.

I've sat next to his sister at a wedding(my wife went to school with them). Said he wants to play here, timing has just never been right. Now seems like pretty great timing.

The roster bonus is for the players.

Even if they were likely going to cut him, if there was no roster bonus, Edmonton could hang on to him at least through training camp, then make a decision based on what they have in camp.

The roster bonus forces the team to decide before the season starts to commit to a player.  And if they cut him, then there is still time to catch on with another team. 

One could argue that it would be better for the player if they negotiated the roster bonus to be paid before free agency.

He is never playing in the CFL

 

I'm in the camp that says sign Eddie Steele so that he and Thomas can man a DT spot.

hope its better then rod rust 2.0  But yeah great pick up. Our ol is in great shape any way you cut it.

Pretty amazing considering his other options.  The Chiefs (and other teams) were a bit hesistant to go after him because they weren't sure how long he'd want to play.  Guess he's proven his doubters wrong!
