October 17, 20168 yr comment_229958 And they can't play again this year. No salary savings... no cap savings... So, why now? I guess they must have felt that they would make things worse. Heard Carter wasn't going to feature much over the final few games. I guess they thought he would become even more destructive. I wonder if the NFL is an option for Carter?
October 17, 20168 yr comment_229959 I know the guy is a basket case but I would LOVE to see Carter as a Bomber next year. With a good team and good environment he might flourish, and if he's a jerk ass O'shea wouldn't put up with it for a second so no harm no foul. Carter, Gurley, Dressler, Adams, JFG/Kohlert. October 17, 20168 yr comment_229962 Do they get their full salary? Because if they were released, cant collect their salary and cant go anywhere else to collect a salary, thats a **** move.

Basically, it's paying them to stay away.
October 17, 20168 yr comment_229974 Should of been traded weeks ago. I see Carter in Toronto next season. We don't need the distraction. Stafford is meh to me and maybe he goes to Hamilton or Riderville.
October 17, 20168 yr comment_229977 Both 3 year gets money not guaranteed. Stafford is in fourth year but games played equals only 3 years.

October 17, 20168 yr comment_229979 I swear I just read something in the CBA today that said for players with 1 year of "service" in the CFL, contracts are guaranteed after the 14th game.

Players with 1 year of service get to keep their medical benefits until the start of the next TC.
October 17, 20168 yr comment_229984 They saved what? 50-60 K with these moves? Unless he convinces Trestman to come back, Jim Popp is as good as gone.
October 17, 20168 yr comment_229986 Wow, as far as Carter, what a way to punish a guy for being a jerk. The Als have devolved into a real circus with lots of clowns rather quickly since number 13 retired ...
October 17, 20168 yr comment_229991 Just goes to show how much easier it is to be a Gm when you have a qb like Calvillo
October 17, 20168 yr comment_229993 Don't want Carter anywhere near this team, don't care how good he is......

October 17, 20168 yr comment_229996 Popp releasing guys so he can sign them when he gets hired in Toronto.

October 17, 20168 yr comment_230002 Carter released just before hitting 1000 yards for the season... Stafford released to save a few thousand bucks looks like
October 17, 20168 yr comment_230004 Id be interested in stafford over adams but sounds like wed have to sign him for only next year?
October 17, 20168 yr comment_230006 No to both not needed here we have enough receivers on the squad who seem to act like professionals.

October 17, 20168 yr comment_230014 I agree, to be honest those receivers were causing issues. Causing fights on Practices, being unsupportive and unproductive on the field. If they were productive on the field (ie Carter) they were taking poor penalties; or causing other issues. Need to realize this is a game for men and not boys; there is a certain way someone must carry themselves when they become a man. The problem was that even though they should be men, they were still acting like boys.
