Bomber Game 1 To Youtube
Guys I am sorry this has taken a long time to do, it's been a crazy week. I did finally get the game in, now I gotta get the audio editing done since I am taking out Rod Black's Voice. It may not get uploaded before the Hamilton game, but for those who do want to relive all of the 2015 season it will be there again. Thanks for your patience.

I'm wondering if we couldn't score a LB from Montreal, maybe not one of their key star linebackers, but someone whose value is cheap enough for us to trade Brohm for. I want to keep Robert Marve, his ceiling is higher than Brohm's, but Brohm is capable enough to warrant to some looks at by other teams in need of a QB. Wouldn't hurt I don't think.

Experience doesn't always translate into success or eliteness. I'll grant this, our D has always had some struggles showing up in Regina, and I don't think our struggles like that one will be typical of every week here, but at the same time I have a hard time giving the D a pass. I think our offense is much improved, getting better, and provided Cotton stays healthy, I think they'll help out the D some, but they shouldn't be constantly playing on their heels all the time and i was starting to worry about them having to play catch-up all of this last game. They can't constantly be doing that and expect to win. I'll also say this, I'm no fan of Etch's schemes and was okay with letting him go, but vanilla defense is never a good thing. What I just have to wonder is whether or not he looked good in Saskatchewan simply because he had Chick and George among others up front getting those sacks and making his defensive schemes look better than they are? Somewhat similar to Tim Burke, looking good when he had players like Odell Willis, Doug Brown, Jason Vega in his best year, and others. But after losing that defensive presence up front, his defenses from there on out, including last year in Toronto looked very mediocre. I know in a lot of cases yes, you only go so far as the strength of the men up front, but I tend to think a lot of good defensive coordinators can make up for weaknesses in some areas or generate pressure by using better disguised blitzes and confusing looks to throw off opposing offenses, and I'm not too sure of Hall's ability to do that. I'm not gonna call for him to go, he does deserve a chance to get things right around here, but there is no question, this defense should not play that poorly like that, and I really hope getting Legget back does fix things, but on top of that, I sure hope we're not gonna have to suffer through John Cornish, Andrew Harris, and John White when he gets back making our defense look like a noodle.

Darian Durant Torn Achilles
I don't personally wish any ill on Durant as a person, as much as I've often grown sick of hearing about him all the time from that clown Rod Black, but good QB play is something that's good for the league and both Durant and Reilly, though they've been a pain in our asses, are part of what makes the league what it is and the league needs villains as much as it needs good guys at QB. That being said, no remorse for the Riders fans as a whole, they bragged about getting Kevin Glenn this offseason and now they've paid for it. We get the bragging rights on this game and they have no excuses that can fly. For Edmonton, again nothing personal against Reilly but he has tried to be Ben Rothlisberger too much and it was only a matter of time before someone cleaned his clock out by sacking him like that. Plus I hate Chris Jones who's an absolute ***hole and he doesn't deserve any Cups to hoist. For Montreal, I expect it'll be a couple weeks for Crompton, but nothing too bad, and besides that, not sure but might even be a blessing in disguise if Cato is an upgrade. Dan LeFevour, he's been on that path too much, and unfortunately, QBs who go running all the time like that expose themselves too much to Buck Pierce-type hits.

Look I'm a believer in this team, I think we got the potential to contend for the West this year, I think we can go up against the Stampeders and Eskimos and be competitive and even win, hell I think our talent is good enough to win the Grey Cup. O'Shea's doing a great job and I love tonight and love this team. But come on, someone sees an area they get concerned about, they should not be knocked for it. I didn't see you mention the significant changes in personnel, or coordinator. Feel stressed in you want, but it's one actual game that counts. Hamilton looked God damn awful for half of last year, both sides of the ball. How many times do I gotta tell you I'm happy about opening night's win? Just because someone sees things that they want fixed and want to see improvement in doesn't make them a debbie downer, just makes them a concerned citizen. I mean jeez, whenever something goes wrong on offense the whole mob comes out wanting to crucify Bellefeuille and that sounds good to everyone, yet someone just expresses concern about a defense they just want to see improvement in, particularly when playing against some of the better Os in the league and that gets put under fire? I call double standard on that one.

I'll preface this thread by saying, I am not complaining at all about the win tonight. Beating Saskatchewan is the best thing in the world no matter how it was done. We rarely win in Regina and this is a happy occasion. Do not get me wrong at all, it was a great game, our offense was fantastic, Drew Willy played exceptional, Paris Cotton is a beast, Nick Moore is back and better than before, Clarence Denmark is a warrior. And screw the Bellefeuille haters, he outdid Chapdelaine this game. But...... Richie Hall's defense was not looking good out there. Lots of plays where guys were out of position, vanilla playcalling, getting gashed in the run, thank god Adams came up with that pick on that one throw or we might really have gotten in trouble. A little surprised too that the Riders didn't go for it on 3rd and short when they were on their last possession and punted it there even though I know Messam got a bit whacked there. It was a good game but this defense had better not be getting gashed like that week in and week out. Hall was hired to fix it and fix the run and so far, he almost looks worse than Etcheverry. I'm gonna enjoy the win for the time being but we can't afford that in Hamilton next week or late in the season.

Week 1 Pick 'Ems
Wow what a crazy weekend it was for pickems. The one game I thought I'd get right Montreal vs Ottawa, I got wrong. And the one game I thought I was foolishly gambling on, Edmonton at Toronto, I actually got right. Crazy stuff for sure.

CFL Opening Week - OTT at MTL / HAM at CGY / EDM at TOR
Chris Jones gets away with all kinds of dirt cheap ****. He deserves to be screwed on that play. I don't give a rats ass about Jones .. just the fact that a referee was standing RIGHT there .. watching the play .. and completely missed it. It's inconsistency like that that makes the league look bad. The league should change the rule about challenging offensive PI. I get that, but as much as I hate bad and inconsistent league rules, hard for me to like Jones's deliberate obnoxiousness. Guy is a grade-A ***hole.

I'm feeling better about being in the minority that gave the argos a chance this game, even in if edmonton does still pull this out, I should get a bonus for Toronto being in this.

It's crazy that these new rules were made to help the receivers yet the receivers are committing all these offensive PI penalties. Nuts.

No you missed the point. Both of you. I'm saying, we're sitting back here saying they suck yet haven't been able to make the playoffs ourselves and ***** at our coaches when it doesn't happen, and complain about terrible labor day games and bad 2nd halves. Yet the Als continually put the Riders in their place and make the playoffs. I'm just saying, do you see how idiotic that makes us look? I'm saying "Come on!!! Le't make the playoffs first and do something with our team for once instead of saying how bad other people's teams are." That's a plenty fair enough MUST.

1. I don't think we as Bomber fans have any room to talk about the Als. Think about this guys, They've been making the playoffs For the last 20 years in a row about, while we on the other hand, have only made them once in the last 6 years. That's really sucky for me and I sure wish we had some of whatever it is they're doing. Better not be counting them out yet or we're gonna end up looking like idiots again for saying it. I sure hope the Bombers will not be starting out fast only to fade again like we did last year and 2011, but come on, let's get it right this time before we go criticizing other teams. 2. The Stampeders and Tiger Cats game is a good one so this week of football is looking good so far.

A fair deal, but if Turner knocks Durant out again tomorrow, that thing that happened last year causing the Riders to be QB-less, they're in big trouble, and that's why Taman got Glenn in the first place. I think he'd try to hold onto him at all costs.

It's hard to say. He was the horse they rode 2nd half of last year and it worked. His numbers never have been great but he's always seemed to do enough to get the job done. What's been a bafflement to the Als is that since Calvillo retired, why is it that they've lacked continuity now from every QB including the ones that looked so promising? For example, in 2013 after Calvillo, Neiswander, and Marsh all got hurt, they found Troy Smith, he played pretty good, looked like he was the QB of the future, and then the next year fizzled out completely and has now left the CFL. Then of course it was Crompton last year who got dubbed the man and was workin for them, but now he's been put on the short rope. I think one of the problems has been the offensive coordinator carousel that's gone around now for the last few years, from the Hawkins situation in 2013 and that turnover and the eventual bringing back in of Doug Berry, to then going to Worman, firing him before the season started, then bringing in Schonert and Garcia. I guess maybe that brings me to the question of how much was last year's offensive turnaround the work of Garcia, and how much was Schonert. Because Schonert last night didn't look nearly as competent of an OC as he did last year and perhaps not having Garcia's brains to pick has hurt more than they thought. It's still early though, and although their defense didn't play good last night, Noel Thorpe has been one of the best in the league the last few years and I'd have a hard time believing that at some point the D won't get turned around again. I see this happen all the time though, teams look dead early but then turn it around midseason.
