yes, sorry I actually meant to say what you said, probably should have focused on "A Little" vs "little" because he does have upside. I'd say he's still in development stage and just needs a little time to get the reins. But on MTL, it would likely be behind Manziel and Adams.

It actually doesn't make sense. If they still had any thoughts that Vernon Adams still could be the guy, then why the hell didn't they put him in already to see what he could do before making the trade to end all trades? You don't make that kind of trade for just an insurance policy QB. This is just beyond ridiculous. I certainly would like to see Adams get a shot and Manziel as well, but if you're going to do that, you should not have stupidly wasted time on those dead beats Willy and Matthews. Adams should have come in on Saturday instead of Schiltz if they're going to do it this way. I'm telling you, this Als QB management is far worse than anything I ever saw in 2013 Winnipeg, and that's saying something.

Manziel failed the NFL the first go around because he attempted too many deep chucks into triple coverage areas. He takes high risk throws, and refuses usually to take sacks, and has a bit of a run around backyard football style of playing the game. Tried too many bad throws in Cleveland and as a result saw his time cut short. Having said that, the Als need a scrambling risk taking QB to try and get things done for them. Willy takes too many sacks and Matthews doesn't have a very good arm. Manziel should at least be able to escape pressure and throw on the run for them. Now whether he hits his target when he throws the ball ... Well that's where the adventure will be.

Yeah I saw that too and was thinking the same thing. Even if Willy did in fact injure his hand, he practically seemed relieved about it. I expect better from a veteran supposed to be leader QB and his quit spirit more than anything are why the Als need to make sure this Manziel trade is a permanent move on from him. Schiltz may have been in over his head, but at least he kept trying despite all that abuse he was taking from CGY's defense. Manziel too at least brings a lot more spirit to the Als lineup.

Umm Mack is currently in charge of Kavis's talent finding as head of scouting. So Reed is currently working with Mack and tied to him. As I already mentioned ... This is a problem with private ownership. The Als have no board of directors to be accountable to who can fire CEOs when they stink. It is all on owner Andrew Wettenhall. He is the one giving Reed his job. This is why the Bombers shall never have a private owner.

I do believe Andrew Wettenhall sucking on ticket sales did play a role in this move. He did have to do something to get his TV ratings and fan interest back. I still think it's funny that the media social media is blowing up with shock. How is this even shocking? Was MTL just supposed to keep using QB bust machines in Willy and Matthews? Hail Mary had to be done.

Thats what I'm saying. They went ahead and traded those draft picks because the O-linemen were included in this deal. I'm saying those picks would have been spent on OL as well. So possibly they didn't mortgage off their future as much as people think.

Might depend on whether the OL picks they would have made would have turned out better. They at least got a few pieces there out of this deal.

Well, getting a couple OLmen out of it does make it somewhat good. Giving up Williams though and not having Matthews sent back there are not what I would have done.

Well, going back to the thread title ... Guess they don't need Dominique Davis now. They got Manziel and he'll surely be out on the field soon. Matthews is done now. He or Willy are about to be dropped like a rock very soon I'm sure.

He's 63, was practically already retired when he got the call from MTL, and I'm guessing probably at a point now where he doesn't care if he gets terminated. He practically has it made from here on out, and ... What's new in MTL? I mentioned in that earlier post that somehow or other Andrew Wettenhall needs to lose his ownership of the team because this carousel of coaches going in and out is all his fault. He hired Kavis Reed and Joe Mack who have devoided the team of talent and taken it to levels beyond dumb. It is his fault this has gone on.

It's PJrocksMB who is mostly that type. He belongs in a nutt house.

Like I said, most of Lapo's detractors are Richie Hall defenders who use Lapo's bad games as smoke screens to make excuses for our bad DC.

I didn't say he should be fired right now. I'm just looking at that call to go for it on 3rd and deep in your own territory and thinking he wouldn't try it unless he was seriously feeling he needed to try and save his job already. And we oughtta know now. That boob Andrew Wettenhall will never do what he's supposed to do, nor will he admit he was dumb for hiring Reed. I think the CFL Board of Governors should vote him out of their committee and demand he sell the Als. He's going to cause them to fold if this keeps up.
