After a loss a team almost always looks bad; hence the hysteria on this board. Look, take away the terrible decision by Nichols for that pick (or maybe the receiver didnt come back) and the punt return for a touchdown in the early part of the game and we are right in it. We sucked at times and deserved the loss, we will move on. We played our worst half of football in a while. With any luck we will take the Banjo Bowl.

We don't "need" Gray this year. Hopefully we can get him in for next year or the year after though.

Okay. So Gray has signed on to the Jets practice squad. So the real question now is, "Is he going to play centre or right wing?"

IMO they need to get Thorpe on the roster for next week. If we are going to throw those short passes all game (Riders were dropping 8 to 9 back), then we need a guy like Thorpe to get some yac yards

Dressler was just okay today. They keyed on him and Harris and it worked. Too many Bomber mistakes. Typical LD game for us. Lost the momentum and couldn't recover.

No. Neither Gray, nor Mulumba can be moved to MLB because Matt Nicholls and Andrew Harris are going to rotate in that spot. (insert smile face here)

Remember guys, the Riders did play us tough in week 2...and the LDC is their Grey Cup so I think the Riders will be favored going in...

I hate to admit it, but the Riders might be the hottest team in the league right now. Yes we have won 5 straight but the Riders have dominated against 2 western opponents. Labour Day is set up to be a hum dinger! We need to stay with the Riders in the first half. I think a key for us will be giving Matt time in the pocket.

Never thought I'd say this but we really haven't missed Dressler...our receivers have been great. Probably the best stall of receivers we have had in a few years

If Carmichael comes out, maybe they can get Dressler in there without having to take out anyone else (Fogg was already on the roster).

1. Lapo for play calling 2. Harris. Monster game 3. Nichols. Our whole offense played great. Our defense played okay against the best QB in the league, and if it wasnt for 1 long run (missed tackles), and a ball that goes off a helmet (caught for td), this game isn't close.

Boy, I have hated Edmonton my whole life. Those stupid rolls the defense does whenever they make a big play...i just hate that

Is MOS changing? Answer - No! He left Nicholls in against Hamilton with 5 minutes to go and the game in the bag. That was a head scratcher. The guy is loyal to his Q.B. to a fault. (i.e. see Drew Willy lol).

Not sure if I am concerned about the Bombers tackling as a whole...it's the linebackers that concern me the most. When you don't hear your name called on the play by play it probably means you aren't making enough tackles. It's nice to have a Canadian at middle LB but our production there is poor at best.

We need some linebackers on this team. Let's start by getting a middle lb, ours is absolutely invisible. He is a joke. What will he finish the year with...like 6 tackles?

I think the point of this recruitment frustration is that Calgary seems to get into injury trouble every year, and every year the guys they bring in as replacements seem to dominant us. Is that better recruitment or better coaching? Maybe a bit of both...

We got out coached badly. Nichols played a bad game. Our special teams wasn't special (we need Fogg back badly). Our offensive line got schooled several times by a make-shift Calgary d-line... Frustrating how we keep losing to Calgary. Not sure if their team personnel is better than ours, but their coaching definitely is. Unfortunately if Bo Levi Mitchell has a less than stellar game, it doesn't seem to matter as the rest of Calgary steps up. Very frustrating. Oh well. the year is yet early. Let's hope we keep improving and beat them in the playoffs.

I don't think Jones gets fired this year (speaking as a Bomber fan living in Saskatchewan). They will let him ride it out. If he doesn't get a certain back-up QB in Edmonton to sign in the off-season (or in a trade) then he will be let go very early in the 2018 season.

Okay. I did forget about Khari Jones. So Nichols MIGHT be the best QB we've had since Khari Jones. (with apologies to Kevin Glenn...Glenn was a decent QB for us and we should not have cut him years ago, but Nichols at this point is maybe better than Glenn was at his prime...very hard to gauge that of course cause I think Nichols has a very good offensive line and good receivers...best offensive set we have had for many years. Nichols is definitely surprising me. Managing the game well. Throws deep well. His scrambling is pretty crappy, but oh well.

Matt Nichols is no Matt Dunigan, nor is he a Tom Clements, or a Deiter Brock. But, after those legends he MIGHT be the best QB we have had around these parts in a long time. I guess time will tell. I tell you guys what though...there are not too many QB's in this league who I would take ahead of him right now.
