  1. Well that could be an option...Maybe Willy, if this happened, would be a competent qb. behind Durian once again....Durant might be comfortable with a few of our receivers as well..................wink,wink.
  2. Yep IC, like you I feel the pain....That's what 25 years...and it looks like right now, soon to be 26, will do to you.
  3. Certainly Burris would be a short term solution....BUT any kind of 'term' is better than what we are headed for ,if this keeps up...We need help NOW and Willy is not getting it done...What would it take to get him here???Seeing as we are going down in flames if something 'credible' isn't done...the price we might have to pay would cost... However,Henry would be a great teacher and Nichols,Davis would certainly benefit from his presence..It would be a great way for Burris to eventually leave the game he obviously luvs, imparting his skills and knowledge to an up and comer in the league, and on our roster.??? Maybe that's what's been missing for a long time on this club???
  4. For sure all of that.......and like Mike I'm wondering what it would take to get Franklin here???? Of the three that were available at the time we signed Willy, he was last on my 'get him list'...Collaros was my first choice (if it weren't for the bad injury he'd be leading the league and is up there with the top qbs.) Burris was my second choice, at that time....Willy was a back up in Sask. that looked like a real good back-up and apparently he still is...We hitched our wagon once again to mediocrity and are now realizing the result....Buggah...
  5. This team keeps sputtering along in mediocrity....something is going to give as the house will be empty in short order...Just not good enough for a team with a long record of futility.
  6. Definitely Willy can't make the long throws...His short game seems to fall apart at times as well...He's a qb. that looks like he has lost whatever he had and it's time for a change...Cripes we might as well trade for Burris and get someone in here who can deliver...cuz when the chips are down it seems Willy can't.
  7. Well IF we don't pull it off tonight, I hope we can at least put in a super effort...I believe this game is winnable and IF we can put Reilly off his game ...who knows....What a great confidence builder if we can walk away with the 2 pts. and will bode very well for the rest of this tough, initial part of the season...Go get em BIGBLUE.
  8. You have to bird-dog Bowman and pressure Reilly so they don't pick us apart....Keep a tight rein on White and hope our D in general kicks it up a notch...then we have a chance...Dress and Ryan have to come up big and I wouldn't expect much else but 'solid' from Harris on the offensive side of the ball...Throw in a few wrinkles involving Jace Davis and Adams and we could upset this club coming in here on a 4 day turnaround ..We shall see...Wouldn't that be nice to put two wins together in this tough stretch and a great confidence builder..
  9. How does a player catch a ball that was thrown to a spot on his hip....not see it coming, squeeze it, tumble into the end zone secured in his hand(s) All of this without 'really' seeing it........bloody amazing....Sask. does not know what kind of receiver they let go....Velcro -man with pure instinct is all I can say...just put the ball anywhere near him and it'll stick... I think Willy is really liking this guy and a few other people....Ryan Smith you be the man.
  10. Why do the leos unis' make them look like they all lost a lot of weight... pencil like..Optical illusion??? In any event it looks like Wally world has come back down to earth, as Jennings started to fade, while old Ray found some reserve gas.... I think they're pretty evenly matched...Lulay looked good ...Could there be a change in the qb. order there???
  11. A part of this team woke up....The bench looked alive (as opposed to lacklustre) and you could see the tenacity in their faces...They were not going to let this one slip away...More of that and we should be okay and Mike O can start unpacking one of his bags....This is a tough start to the season BUT with that kind of effort, no matter how unorganized at times it seemed, we'll win our share of games...A much happier Bomber fan today.
  12. WELL THAT WAS A HECKUVA LOT BETTER....Still have a lot of work to do with this team BUT a lot better effort gets the win (tried to give it away a few times) but we hang on...The pressure valve has popped and we can breathe a little now.
  13. The players want to come here alright (maybe it's the country club atmosphere) BUT the readiness to play for Mikey, seems fleeting at times...They don't seem to get going till the second half...you know after we're down a couple of tds' and the horse has left the barn..(literally in Cal.) O'Shea says they're prepared but we have to kinda...sorta ..........wait for it..Much like the promises that this team will get better in the long run....It's been one helluva long run so far.
  14. Stickem replied to Fred C Dobbs's post in a topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Mid season firing of O'Shea is like saying the season will be done... I don't have the confidence in Lapo to salvage the rest of another losing season if we wait that long...MIGHT have a shot IF we can MOS now.... It's a 'big maybe' but I'm afraid that's all we have with this club at present....a lot of maybe's..
  15. Sick and tired of hearing about people who ran this club in the past as being the problem of TODAY...there's definitely something wrong with the way things are being run NOW...I don't care how you want to dance around it...the head coach is very suspect and a fine example of that was the non-challenge of Cal. receiver dropping a pass out of bounds, that was definitely challengeable at least.... We then let the stumps get a quick play off and our coach was left with his jaw hanging open...Same thing happened last year along with poor clock management and it seems we don't care about those little things as nothing has been done to correct it...I'm not fooled by the last part of the game success, as it was all garbage time as far as I was concerned...Cal. was just playing at half speed at the juncture of the game BUT the last play...last sack of the game on Willy, was the real indication of the play throughout...This team is a dumpster fire and headed for the cellar...What can be done now???Fire O'Shea he is not head coach material...I've hung with this guy hoping that he'll turn this club around...Obviously I was fooling myself as O'Shea was fooling the locals as being a head coach...Players like him....that's great but that has got us sweet bippy and looking at another failed year...Something better get done or IGF is going to resemble a chasm of empty.
  16. How long before the calls for O'Shea to hit the road start????Pathetic.
  17. Because the coach is pathetic and should be gone NOW, before the fans leave wholesale.
  18. Bring a team with a qb. and a coach would be a start and is one key....What I'm seeing out there tonight ain't working.
  19. What a sad bunch of crap that the Bomber faithful have to witness in the first half.... Corneys sack was great otherwise ...No offence no defence ... coaches are very suspect....Shake the hell out of this team and put Nichols in...What a bloody disgrace.
  20. ....Yeah.... a tank with one bad tread....He did look sharp part of the time last night but the long season is going to takes it's toll.
  21. Durant was shaking the dust off and was looking like the ol Darian, then his bad leg kicked in....He was limping notably when he left at the half...Miraculously though (ahem) he came out throwing strikes again until the last quarter...Was it that he was not in game shape or was his torn Achilles starting to act up...?? Personally I don't think he makes the year..He's one wrong move on that leg and he could be done .. He clearly can't plant and throw the long ball and chooses to dink and dunk down field...If he goes down the riders, if they weren't in trouble before, will certainly be behind the eight ball...Enough about rider troubles...we have a few of our own and I hope our qb. snaps out of it today...We need this win badly.
  22. Number 1 is get over this psychological bent that 'we never win there'...I don't know how many times I've heard, read or picked-up somewhere is that 'we might as well mail in the 2 points and stay home'...I hope none of the players read or pick-up on that crap and take it to heart...The stumps are a very beatable club...Just get in there and do it...We have the talent and looking at their lineup for tomorrow shouldn't scare anyone.
  23. Hellman that's for sure...this guy will spread their D and then some....(boredom setting in I guess, to come up with that)
  24. Here's a crazy thought to add to the disillusionment...How about trading for Travis Lulay ....Sound crazy???not according to the rumourville and Pedersen in Regina...He says Bombers are talking to the Leos and that another club is involved.....This could be someone dreaming up a crazy scenario to further drive us into depression...orrrrrr maybe not.
