Walters' Priorities
It took Walters awhile to ditch Burke as well, it wasn't announced immediately after the last game of the season, even though everyone pretty much knew it was going to happen.

Around The League Off Season Discussion
Possibility, the Bombers may not want to tie their long-term fortunes to this guy in case he bolts after their fifth consecutive G.C. victory.

Maximum Value for our 1st & 5th picks
A quart of rye washed back with a 1/2 cup of ammonia will be needed to erase this mental image from my lobe. Thanks.

Maximum Value for our 1st & 5th picks
All the more reason to be careful where they are selected in the draft. A high pick like Richards is proof enough that it doesn't always work out as planned.

Maximum Value for our 1st & 5th picks
Giguere has also re-established himself as a decent receiver with the Als.

Now that Dave "Sticky" Stala is gone I can't think of any.

I think he just came in for a look-see.

Bombers Off-Season Transactions
Duncan was on their P.R. at the end of the season.

Quarterback Quest
No, they can pay each PR player whatever they choose to above the minimum. If they were pursuing Bennett for a few years previously they may have had to make him a few financial promises to convince him to come up to the CFL in the first place. If he was just an unknown scrub that caught on at a try-out camp that would be a different matter.

Quarterback Quest
Another possibility is that Bennett was let go to help out with the salary cap. A young-gun QB is probably making decent coin even while sitting on the P.R. so perhaps he became an unjustified expense and they didn't see him progressing beyond Davis. With the current group, I'd have no problem employing 3 QB's instead of 4.

Quarterback Quest
He wouldn't be the first player that felt disgruntled sitting on the P.R. I imagine Walters knew this could happen and may have tried to convince him to hang in there for another season by moving him to the I.R. before the season ended with his consent. Perhaps Bennett wanted to roll the dice in F.A., so Walters left him exposed.

Nichols Contract
What's really funny, is with the GM position open in Mtl. and potentially in T.O., John Murphy's name has not been mentioned once as a candidate. In one year with the Riders he's gone from the next "Hufnagel" to a slack jawed yokel who's talent is best suited to retrieving stray balls that get punted into the stands during practice.

Nichols Contract
Jones the "recruiting genius" with his head buried deep in the Bombers garbage pail.

Quarterback Quest
They're setting a fast pace to burn through more player next year then they did this year.

Damn, liked both Mayo and Bennett, hurts to lose these guys to those losers. Have to wonder why the Riders are scooping Mayo when that is probably the strongest position on their roster. Perhaps they're expecting to lose Roosevelt through trade or F.A.
-
Nichols Contract
I think a deal will be concluded rapidly with little fanfare or discordance. At this time Nichols and the Bombers are a good fit for each other other and they'll find a way to make it work. Those who think he's not worth retaining have either short term memories or a high tolerance for pain.

Bomber Grey Cup 2017
Finding a shut-down MLB isn't as easy as it sounds, just look how many candidates the Riders scrolled through before they settled on Henoc. I tend to think it's more "system fault" than personnel at this point. A year of watching Hurl in Hall's D confirms that Bass did much better in that role this year and even having Solly in that position wouldn't change things much unless the scheme is updated to adjust to his talent.
