  1. If you’d have only stuck with Schoen and Demski, we’d have a winner and someone complaining that 2-point conversions should be considered as a correct pick as it is the same scoring requirement (possession in the end zone) as a TD. (OK, it is me complaining that this is how the rule should be, since I had this happen to my picks 3 times last year).
  2. I don’t disagree with you that this seems inconsistent, especially when his deliberate intent seems clear here. I am looking into a possible explanation as to why the rule is the way it is, hopefully my source can give me a coherent answer.
  3. They do know the rules. On a kickoff the receiving player can step out of bounds, stay out of bounds, and field the ball in bounds and it is considered an illegal kickoff. Illegal participation is where a player goes out of bounds without being forced out and re-enters the field of play to play the ball. Here the BC player deliberately stepped out of bounds and fielded the ball, which makes the ball out of bounds.
  4. Hoping for an entertaining contest, but would not put any money on the Bombers tonight. Their biggest motivation is to not get hurt, BC has everything to play for. Kind of depends on which Adams shows up at QB.
  5. Calgary could possibly be eliminated from 2nd place contention before their next game. With the Sramps’ loss last night, BC needs 2 wins to guarantee 2nd. They get a Bomber team with zero to play for at home tonight and go to Edmonton next Friday where the Elks have not won in 3 years. By the time Calgary plays Sask on Saturday, they may well know their fate. Now, Sask has been playing so lousy that it may make no difference how little Calgary has to play for.
  6. Montreal has already clinched 2nd, since they won the season series with Hamilton and can now finish no worse than tied in the standings with the Cats.
  7. Hot stepper (murderer), I’m the lyrical gangster (murderer)? Sun (doo-duh-doo-dum)?
  8. Would like to see some progression, but people need to remember that he is only just 24 and has little more than one full season’s worth of games under his belt. Zdeno Chara was given up on by two teams by the time he was 28 and didn’t win the Norris until he was 32. Won the Cup at 34 and still had a decade of hockey left in him.
  9. Isn’t that what Brett Favre said when he sent those pics on his phone? FIFY
  10. Ditto. No ghosts though*. *(I moved the bodies).

And that was only compensatory damages. No word if punitive damages were awarded or if that is still to come. Maybe Fox and Newsmax are starting to sweat. Jones’ worth may be 20% of that, but the key is shutting him down forever, not the money. Maybe the families can now go after the NRA for damages too for facilitating this tragedy.
  12. Hopefully Brown gets at least a few starters to play with and isn’t all scrubs. Would like him to get some legit time with legit starters in a non-clock killing scenario. Rest is important and you never want to see an injury in a meaningless game, but with two byes the rest will be there to a good extent. Some things the players and team can still play for: - One win sets a new club record, and two ties Edmonton for the most wins ever - Oliviera is 81 yards away from 1,000 (would be the 10th Canadian rusher to ever hit that total) and is 30 yards behind the league leader (but with one more game played). If he tops the list, would be the 5th Canadian ever to lead the league in rushing -Collaros has already hit personal career highs in every passing category, is 103 yards behind Bethel-Thompson for the league lead (with one more game played) -Schoen has the league lead in reception yardage by 34 (with one more game played) than Rhymes, is 255 yards away from the all-time rookie record, is 20 receptions away from the rookie record. -Demski is 295 yards away from his first 1,000 yard season receiving.
  13. Week 19 update: this week’s playoff clinching scenarios (assuming no ties)- Winnipeg: Clinched 1st in the West. BC: Clinched a West playoff spot. No clinching scenarios this week. Need wins and Calgary losses totalling 3 to clinch 2nd. Calgary: Clinched a West playoff spot No clinching scenarios this week. Need wins and BC losses totalling 4 to clinch 2nd. Saskatchewan: Will finish 4th in the West. No clinching or elimination scenarios this week. Need two of these three scenarios to clinch a crossover playoff spot: wins and Montreal losses totalling 5, wins and Hamilton losses totalling 3, wins and Ottawa losses totalling 2. Edmonton: Will finish 5th in the West. Eliminated from playoff contention. There are no East crossover possibilities. Toronto: Clinched 2nd in the East and a home playoff game. Can clinch 1st in the East with a win and a Montreal loss. Montreal: Clinched 3rd in the East. Can clinch 2nd and a home playoff game with a win. Hamilton: Can finish no better than 2nd in the East. Can finish no better than 3rd with a loss OR a Montreal win. Ottawa: Can finish no better than 2nd in the East. Can finish no better than 3rd with a loss.
  14. If it was a different Province, I would be inclined to agree. But there are enough “the rest of Canada is against us” types in Alberta that they will buy in to the new Trump populism script. And they will be less likely to forgive her if she doesn’t speak out against the “woke progressive elites” than the moderates will be to dismiss her for these comments. The world has gotten to a state that outrageous comments garner a shrug far too often.
  15. For the second time, I am not arguing that he should be MOP. I think his stats are gaudy enough to beat out Demski (and his 12 games) for Outstanding Canadian. If Demski explodes in his last 2 to get over 1,000 yards and leads the league in TDs, then he probably takes it. No speculation on what his stats “might be” in a full year, no “what ifs” about regression (silly argument to make, changing the facts would make it a totally different argument), just based on what he has done compared to other Canadians this year, he is still the most proficient IMO.
  16. So you think that a half season is not enough of a sample size to justify an award, but one game is enough to disqualify him?
  17. No, you can’t have my seats!

  19. Not arguing MOP, I’m arguing MOC.
  20. Rourke’s numbers were so ridiculously high, and the Lions’ record so good with him, that he is deserving of MOC, even with only 9 games. Demski has had a great last 6 games, but he himself has only played 12, so not too much to separate their missed games yet, and Rourke’s numbers as they stand are still a bit better than Demski’s straight up, IMO.
  21. Who does and does not have to clear waivers has a lot to do with it.
  22. The majority here seem to not want them to make it. The only reasons I would want them to get to the Cup through the back door are: 1. It would make Grey Cup week in Regina a lot more alive for all the fans in attendance. Since I will be there, I’d want to enjoy that energy. 2. Beating them again at the Grey Cup would complete the cycle of Winnipeg winning another “first time” event at Mosaic over the Riders, and would completely avenge the 2007 loss to them and could erase that bad memory forever.
