111th Grey Cup- Argos vs Bombers GDT
If Walters and miller do not have a war council (with or without O'Shea), we are going to be in worse shape next season. I can put up with a bit of a down year if a new head coach and possibly assistant coaches settle in, but if there is no change, I will be pretty scarce around here (cue thunderous applause).

3 turds plus crappy honker. Long winter edition.
To be fair, the Bombers were scrooged waaay before that.

But what will happen if/when Younger leaves? I am still puzzled at Hubert's excommunication- he looked at least better than Thomas and Schmekel and suddenly he was deemed unfit to play a down.

Most irksome moment of GC 2024- Why did they Stray from Brady?
I could feel my then-cautious optimism drop like a stone in a well when the Bombers took a knee just before half-time with 45 seconds or so left. That felt like the bombers were conceding that they had no hope of completing a couple of passes to get within field goal range before time ran out. The icing on the cake came when they went 2 and out at the start of the third quarter. As a behaviourist, I noted that the o-line heads were down and I figured that was confirmation the game was over, whether the Bombers admitted it or not, I would bet the Argo coaches saw that too.

Not good at all, but what else would you expect when his butt has been stapled to the bench all season?

All things considered...
And better than the Riders' O-line but that is cold comfort.

Or dead and in a wheelchair? Are the inmates running the asylum? Contrast that against the TSN report that in mid-season, LaVaris Daniels was carping about his playing time, so Dinwiddie threatened him with a trade. So Daniels smartened up immediately.

Maybe.

We sure as hell can find someone who could play as well as Collaros did in the Cup game for that money.

Or. it could fall into the category of "mysterious moves by O'Shea"

O'Shea's personality will not make it easy or perhaps even possible to fire Buck if he is responsible.

Occam's Razor applies here, I think. There is no need to overthink things- O'Shea's personality doomed the team, and the players on the team knew that he was going to keep fielding Whitehead, Thomas, Schmekel, no matter what. We got away with that against a far weaker Rider team, but against the Argos, whose coaches were not afraid to adapt, the Bombers were in way over their heads.

Oven mitts. You can quote me on this: O'Shea will quit or be fired (or leave by mutual agreement) rather than change. I do not see that as possible, given his personality and "winning" record as a head coach.

Not sure who is responsible for that truism, but I would bet it comes down to the head coach who decides who is on the field or not. When you look at it, in each consecutive Cup appearance, we have done worse than the previous one. Reminds me of the Russian farmer who, when asked about the current year's crop forecast replied." Worse than last year, but better than next years". The sooner the better.

I think it is worse than not having trust in the backup QBs- it sure as spit looked like O'Shea was going to go with Collaros come Hell or high water so long as Collaros could drag himself out onto the field. That is consistent with O'Shea's M.O. for the past few seasons.

And everyone short of O'Shea knew that. There have been rumours that Paddy has been playing on one good leg since training camp, so he might deserve a pass for now. We are past the point where a tuneup is in order- we're looking at a full overhaul, and I doubt if O'Shea will be part of that. He presents as very set in his ways and at his age, very unlikely to change.

I am over my hissy-fit and have apologized to my wife, so am allowed back on my laptop. This was far crueler an outcome than previous years. Last year Collaros was spiraling downwards in the playoffs and the team was lucky to get to the Cup game and I didn't think we had a chance. This year, Collaros looked like he exorcized his demons in thrashing the Riders, but choked even worse than 2023. And the sub-par players from last year were all brought back to be starters. The only coach who should not be afraid to answer his phone is Younger.

We do not need a QB mentor who is costing a half-million plus per year and tutors a QB who is forced to execute crappy game plans.

The defence was good enough to win, the offence gave the game away.

Truth is, we were outcoached and beaten by a team which knew how to beat us. Bombers deserved to lose. Again.
