Around The League Regular Season Discussion
To put Mitchell's mindset into clear focus: two weekends ago, he tweeted that ISIS was created and controlled by Zionists. The Riders are going to need to divert front-end loaders from the new stadium site to clean up after this poop-storm.

Lions @ Argos
Didn't they just sign one?

Lordy. I do not recall him looking so gaunt- he looks like his moustache weighs as much as the rest of him.

Lawless says there is trade market for Willy
Ummmm....the last time I checked, #1 was still one of the top three.

Lawless says there is trade market for Willy
My memories of Durant is him shaking off would-be tacklers- even D-linemen, stepping up and either taking off or firing passes through keyholes. In his prime, he was definitely one of the top three QBs in the league.

Mitchell ought to feel right at home in downtown Regina, then.

Predictions For The 2nd Half
Its contagious. The Riders are a steaming mess, and Edmonton is close to imploding as well. At the risk of sounding like a homer, it would seem the credible teams this year are Hamilton (maybe), Winnipeg, Calgary, and the Lions.

Harris and Medlock Named Week 10 Top Performers
Bowman has been an all-star for several years and has good chemistry with Reilly, so no wonder he is seeing more pigskin thrown at him than Kermit.

Bombers Release Kris Adams, Add National OL Alex McKay
This puts McKay in good company- with Chick, Denmark etc. I hope he does well with the Bombers- you can't coach size or passport and we have the luxury of having the time to assess and groom him.

The Saskatchewan team ought to change their name to "Riders, Barnum and Bailey".

Mic'ing Up the Teams
The half-hour CFL show on TSN Tuesdays(?) uses a lot of audio with the gametime clips and is quite entertaining. I recommend it highly- the most recent one featured the coaches, players and QBs talking during and after the last game. Funny and insightful, even after editing.

Official LDC Trash Talk Thread
In Mafia tradition, it would have been a horse's head, but if that happened to Jones, it would mean that both ends of the horse would be there at the same time.

Riders @ Esks
Weird poop does happen during these games, but Riders winning even one of the two would be beyond bizarre. The Bomber offence has not been overwhelming but the Rider defence has been a lot worse. I could see Durant being carried off the field by half-time in the LDC- a combination of a carnivorous Bomber D-line and a Rider O-line which has often been as strong as wet Kleenex.

Riders @ Esks
I see the Riders in a worse position than the Bombers were last year at this time. Both teams struggling, but the Bombers did not have the combination circus/dumpster fire going on all around them, as is the case with the Riders now. At least last year we had hope that things would get better, but I am not sure the is the case for Rider fans this season.

I admire your optimism. And the meds you are on are......?

Predictions For The 2nd Half
Nichols has done better than almost everyone expected, but the honeymoon will end sooner or later and the Bombers will lose a few. I see the Bombers finishing at 10 and 8 if Nichols stays healthy. If he goes down all bets are off.

Alberta Economy & Oil (Split Discussion)
My information is obviously dated - I heard that statistic about 10 years ago, so it would appear that the investment managers have done quite well.

Bond should also be in the running for an Academy Award nomination based on his performance last game.

Alberta Economy & Oil (Split Discussion)
No question. All the Nordic countries as well as Germany and Austria do, yet they consistently have the highest resident satisfaction rates, lowest crime rates, the lowest infant mortality and suicide rates and among the highest adult lifespans in the world. No system is perfect, but resident satisfaction and economic growth and stability have to be pretty good ways of judging how well societies function. Interestingly, in countries with large income gaps between the very rich and very poor, the rich live and average of 3 1/2 years longer in countries with narrowed income gaps.

Alberta Economy & Oil (Split Discussion)
Yes. During my time in Alberta, my work brought me in contact with healthcare regional management, school boards, municipal and civic administrations, and so forth. While it was illegal for any organization to donate directly to any political party, if these organizations did not "voluntarily" buy tickets coasting several hundred dollars each to fundraising dinners, their funding and/or grant proposals would be denied or reduced dramatically. When the enumerator came around to count the number of eligible voters in our home, as soon as she had that information, she produced a registration book for the ruling provincial party and tried to both sign us up as PC members and enlist us as election workers for the pending election. I called the provincial elections office who took the the information and promised to have someone call back "soon". Still waiting. And that does not even cover the purchases of materials and equipment.
