Find me even one post where roster usage problems were denied. One. You won't find it. The only thing people argued about was how serious the effect of this problem was and that is completely fair imo. Look, I'm guilty of carrying on with Booch about the effect of roster management during the season. I just hoped he would give it a rest in the offseason because it is a horse that's been beaten to death. Bombers get rid of STC...and somehow roster management gets worked into the argument. It's tedious.

True, It's not like he played any differently from the year before and really not much has changed in the QB market.

The agent can offer that info but the second any CFL team comments back to that agent it's tampering. The very definition of it. You are not allowed to discuss players under contract with another team with their reps. PERIOD. You can back channel that info certainly though. Not really, but they could sure come in cheaper than our first and 2nd combined.

Look, no one was trying to drive Booch away. Wasn't anyone's intention at all. You are right that we can all have egos at times for sure and definitely behavior can be atrocious. That being said what was so atrocious that was said to Booch? All everyone was pointing out is that the roster management and MOS criticisms are now getting over the top. If that hurts Booch's sensibilities that was not the intention. It's the offseason. Let's see what happens this offseason before deciding what MOS will or won't do before INSISTING that he will do nothing. He moved on from his STC because results were below expectations, that's a good start....but when people acknowledged that Booch tried to sell us on a spin that would keep the MOS criticisms going instead of just acknowledging a good move by MOS and management. Why? I think what most of us who are saying we are tired of this narrative are trying to point out is that we literally have not had a discussion over the past 8-9 months where it hasn't been spun back to this same criticism over and over again even when it is completely inapplicable. I am not against upgrades at any position that make us younger and better. I just don't believe in setting someone adrift that is still very good until you have secured that upgrade.

The way I look at it is that a 1000 yard running back on our team won't be hard to find. Finding a 1200+ yard receiver will be very difficult and/or very expensive. Go with Schoen, and if Brady wants to chase dollars all the power to him but he should be very cognizant that a lot of his success came because we commit to the run and provide him with absolutely stud, and without equal in this league, run blocking. If he want to go to another team he will settle into a much less prominent role with the production that goes with that.

I never called it nauseating and have no doubt that you have some connections in regard to inside info. However, you will never convince me that you have any insider knowledge of how and who makes executive decisions in regards to the Bombers front office. They are a closed shell and notoriously good at keeping things behind closed doors. Booch, everyone here values your input a lot. It's just that your criticisms have been heard, acknowledged, and yet you keep repeating them over and over again. No ones arguing with you. Your point was made and you keep going on about it. You went on to try and paint MOS with a bad brush when he made one of the changes he needed to make. That's not fair criticism anymore, that's bias.

I was referencing Jonny actually but since you responded with a counter that it is also not our job to judge a player's worth for coming back. If someone suggests we should cut bait on Adam Bighill after an all star season it is not unreasonable at all to ask who they think should replace him. Highly important little consideration that MUST go into it. Find someone else is not an answer. Cutting bait on veterans needs to happen for sure at some point, is it that time now? Highly debatable, depends entirely on who you gonna dress instead. Can't cut bait on an allstar MLB unless you got a guy that can play at that level. Do we have that guy? I don't see him on our roster. Look, I'm neither for or against keeping Bighill. If we can get a guy that replaces his play without constituting any drop off sign me up. However, Jonny was suggesting we just cut bait on Biggie and let the chips fall where they may.....and I disagree with that.

You don't know that. That is strictly your opinion and a very jaded one at that. Yea. I don't think it is within the realm of reality that MOS had no input into his coaching staff. That's just a crazy reach right there.

Biggie's salary is not that high compared to a lot of other positions. Sure. Who you replacing him with? Change for the sake of change is just stupid. Put out a candidate that would provide the upgrade you want and we can discuss. You don't dump an all star MLB just because you think it's time to do so without a surefire replacement.

His peers voted him CFLPA allstar last year. The guy is still balling. Could he use some platooning....probably couldn't hurt but he's still got game or at least a majority of the guys he plays against think so and I am willing to take their word for it over fans who may or may not have a full understanding of what he bring to the table. Ideally I'd love to see the Bombers bring in his eventual replacement this offseason and gradually work him into a platoon with Bighill to keep him fresh.

Fair enough. I like Cole rotationally with Wilson, unless Biggie is not back, and I definitely want to see more of a rotation at DE as well....whether that is Haba or not remains to be seen. I suspect we will have some DE's in camp to challenge his spot on the roster. To me the only guys we might be ruthless about this offseason are Miller, Alexander, and Fatboi. They are deadweight now. Guys we should be recruiting hard for potential replacements should they have lost a step or to get some seasoning for 2025 are Biggie, Jeffcoat, Stan, and Hardrick. We need to get some good young guys coming in to replace them in the not too distant future, Everyone else is pretty much good to go, or have good replacements ready, for the next year or two. Some will say what about Collaros? Yep, but not because I believe age is even remotely a factor. I just believe that you should ALWAYS be looking for your next franchise QB. If Collaros was 25 right now I want the Bombers turning over every stone to find someone better. Bighill doesn't need to be replaced. However, we should be making his eventual replacement a priority scouting duty. I don't think we were really arguing about Wilson but I agree, that finding a Biggie replacement is a bigger need. WIlson still has some good balling left.

If any of that happened I might reconsider my stance on him. However, coulda woulda shoulda doesn't make an average QB any better. There is a loooong list of average QBs that if they had gotten a better shake team wise might have been considered better QBs through association. At one time many years ago, he was a good CFL QB. That ship sailed a few years ago.

Agree that Lawson is ahead of Thomas and am quite certain that will be the case this year again. Eli needs a spot, for sure. Not sure that Cole has outperformed Wilson in any way though? Other than WIlson being a veteran what is your gripe with his play? Need to get younger...sure...but guys have to step up and take these roles away from the vets and we have no evidence that they have done so and are being held back from a starting position. A loose argument could be made that some young guys like Cole and Haba should get more rotational time, but they in way, shape, or form outperformed the starter they are behind other than they look like they might be able to in the future with more development. I'll take WIlson and Jeffcoat over Cole and Haba until something is pretty clearly evident that it needs change. I don't mind the Bombers giving draft picks a really good look for development. However, Briggs, Jackson, and IF Eli beats out Kolo (which he should) then yea these three would be a fail if they are not replaced.

I agree. You don't find a replacement by playing a revolving door of sub par players hoping you catch lightning in a bottle. About the only curious move I saw of a player getting held back a bit last year was Haba, and that was because he needed to work on his run stopping. I'm not a marine lover by any stretch of the imagination and MOS may have overvalued him as well, but if someone was jumping off the page and too good to hold out of the lineup they would have been in there. I think Thomas is a poor example because Lawson looks ready for prime time, but we've heard the name Bighill thrown around as needing replacement....he was just selected a CFLPA allstar...someone wants his job they need to take it and not be handed it because of a date on the calendar. Lawson played more snaps this season than Thomas did.

It hasn't reared it's head until it's reared it's head. We won't know that until we see the game 1 roster.

I'm not that sure that Harris has ever been all that highly rated. I think 95% of people feel he is an average CFL QB.

I bet 95% of players want to come back until they are told behind closed doors that its not gonna happen. There is no YIKES moment yet. If the Bombers sign him then we can say YIKES.

Great. Thanks for chiming in with the identical post for the 850th time this year. No one is arguing your point and you won't change anyone's mind who disagrees. It's been a year of this. It feels pretty redundant. Give it a rest at least for the offseason. If the same issues crop up next year OK....fair enough...fire away.

I don't think anyone here sold Ford short. What I, and others, were stating is that he still needs development. I have no doubt that if developed more he has all the ability to be a very good CFL QB. Just isn't there yet and despite what some people here think playing a QB that isn't ready is NOT the way to develop them. It's how you break them
