  1. I just can't see them getting full value on Hardrick's contract at this point of his career even if he will bring huge locker room upside. How in god's green earth is Logan Ferland worth 194k? That one blew me away. That guy is a pylon...actually that is an insult to pylons.
  2. All parties would have to include Kelly himself I would think, and I would think that Kelly would want to be there for the optics of maintaining innocence. I do not envy the Argos position here, either alienate your franchise QB or come off looking like a heel. I think the former is the morally correct choice from an overall perspective, but from a purely football franchise standpoint they went with the latter. Unfortunate.
  3. Yea....I am unclear why there would be a need for any use of the term otherwise. It would just be set in stone. Each team must designate X amount of dollars over the SMS floor. Ok thanks, that makes way more sense than being able to go nuts with SMS skirting. The use of the term "minimum" in this case is not meant to be used as anything more than to denote that it could be more based on revenues in the future not to mean there is unlimited spending.
  4. Hardrick really had a poor 2nd half of the season. Noticeably worn out. He was his usual great self for a while, but I don't think he's got a full season in him anymore and he was asking way too much to be a rotational guy. Most expensive sure, but not necessarily SMS wise. We already know a significant portion of BO's contract does not count on the cap....hard to say what the other guys are getting in promo. Bailey was in the 5th receiver spot. As good as he was at it, it's not a position we are going to blow our brains out paying him what he's really worth. Honestly, Bailey's loss will be felt more in the locker room than on the field. He did nothing in the playoffs either.
  5. I think we all need to remember that the Argos are being sued by the victim right now. They are in a real tough spot on this as they likely do not want to admit guilt. Does that make their actions right? Of course not. However, their lawyers are probably driving the bus on this right now.
  6. CFL, NHL, NBA, MLS....just a rotten company to it's core.
  7. Dunigan also had the misfortune of having an absolute wingnut of an owner.
  8. According to Naylor on X, the league did not agree to allow Kelly to attend yesterday. The CBA allows it, and this was 100% an Argo decision to let it happen. I don't know how to embed tweets but Naylor said that the league couldn't stop it without violating the CBA.
  9. Ok...well then that's no different from any other suspended player then. Can't practice, can't attend meetings but can attend the workplace. Really stupid of the Argos to allow it though.
  10. Yes, but Kelly's suspension does not start until the end of TC.
  11. Yea...I mean Bluto did victim blame but I think it was more he hoped and prayed the victim was lying, and it came out all wrong. We now know for certain based on Pinball's comments that Kelly ain't a victim of a smear campaign. I am sure Bluto will do the right thing now.
  12. Maybe, but from all accounts the past deals with Grant were pretty team friendly. I can't see him suddenly looking to cash in after the season he had last year.
  13. Cut him some slack, he just lost his franchise MOP QB. He's an Argo fanatic and is clearly in denial. He is extending way too much benefit of the doubt to a player known to have big behavioral problems, but he is also viewing it through the lens of a fan. He will come around once the shock and awe wears off and he realizes this was a fair and just punishment. The CFL could not let it's reigning MOP act like a total creep and embarrass the league with a weak response to it.
  14. I really am not sure that Grant was a SMS casualty. I think the Bombers felt that he was in the tub too much.
  15. Cups are the only thing that matter. If a NAT needs to be sat to make that happen so be it.
  16. If history has taught us anything, it is that Kelly learns from his past indiscretions. (I hope the dripping sarcasm came through..)

It does have a ring to it doesn't it.

Goggins was great in Vice Principals too.
  19. Yea..there's gotta be some kind of formula you would think.
  20. OK...and it appears there is a floor for the spending but no upper limit.
  21. So it does count against the SMS then from what I interpret above. If so, holy crap there is a lot of media getting this wrong. Or is it an extra 110k over the SMS spending but subject to extra audit?
  22. It's the dirty little SMS loophole we've used since they introduced it.
  23. Yea..read an article about his time in Memphis. Barely got reps because they felt he was undersized. He's got good WIL size for the CFL.
  24. Yea....Moses is worth the camp invite just because if his health has turned the corner he could be a freak out there.
  25. He was but successive injuries derailed his college/pro career. A real bad string of luck. If he is now healthy the guy is a blue chipper. He was also labelled as being a little undersized at his position in 4 down ball. He is average size among CFL Lbers tho. Man....if Moses finds the game that made him a potential top 10 NFL pick prior to his injury streak we will have ourselves a baller. However, just to temper expectations he was an early camp cut in the UFL last year. Gotta be a guy our scouts worked out and were impressed with.
