  1. Ha! Similar journey man! We were probably too young to be on forums at the time but I think I held my own in arguments. Had a family of pretty damn good coaches and well played provincial ball myself. This two peat is so special because of what we’ve had to go through. A lot of awful teams, a lot of hopefully training camps; a lot of thinking if I would ever get a grey cup in my life time. Really hoping someone has some info on SPuDS he was a great poster!
  2. The life of the CFL.. we will bring back the majority of the guys. That playoff bonus money is definitely a factor.
  3. I’ll be there! Going to grab some Grey cup merch.
  4. We’ll lose some players, that’s the nature of the game. People will always try to sign players from championship squads. I’m fully confident in Walters ability to replace those players. Or scouting has been phenomenal. We still have a great core here so I don’t see any of the big guy names leaving. But someone of our other guys will most certainly take the money, but those are guys who are good Ofcourse but I’m confident we can replace.
  5. I started out on our bombers as a 12 year old back in the early 2000’s. Found this place in 2012 as a young adult. Probably went years where I either just browsed or posted seldomly. I recognize a lot of the old usernames from the old site, a lot of great new posters from this site. I’m now 30 years old and me and my girl friend bought our first house together last year and I think I’ve had to sacrifice some of the things such as going out to watch the game, or going to all the games, so I’ve really grown accustomed to watching the game at home and having a beverage, with MBB in the background so I can chat with you guys. It’s a hell of a journey and a great community to be a part of!
  6. I would be very surprised if we brought back all three Canadian running backs. I think a team like the Riders maybe get rid of Powell and take a run at someone like Augustine and have Lafrance as their backup.
  7. I’m 30 and I can tell you for certain I feel very similar to you. A lot of heart ache to get where we are today. It’s just such a great metaphor for life going through the ups and downs and the struggles to where we are and where this team was today.
  8. No way we would win without Castillo. Once we traded for him I was pretty confident about our chances of winning it all. He came up huge in the biggest game of his career.
  9. Soaking in every moment of it. The season comes fast. Can’t take anything for granted. I didn’t see a grey cup win in my life time until 2019. Now I get to see back to back. It’s pretty special.
  10. I said I wasn’t going to cry this year. I cried in 2019 because it was the first Grey cup in my life time. My grandpa coached provincial football and was a hero to me and he died of cancer in 2016. My dad stopped following football after that. They won several championships in midget, high school football, and coaching team Manitoba but I was with my girl friend tonight and balled my eyes out. I wish my grandpa was here to see this. So much disappointment in my life time. I love Canadian football.
  11. We’re playing for the wind in the fourth I guess
  12. If you’re taking 3’s instead of touchdowns you’re going to lose the game. Lots of time left but gotta start capitalizing
  13. Down by 3 lots of football left let’s go baby!!
  14. Evans was mentally scared against winnipeg Masoli is playing like there’s nothing to lose.
  15. Well their d line dominated our prestigious o line. We have to be better in the second half.
  16. If they changed it to four down football I would probably be done with the CFL it’s perfect the way it is. No major changes are necessary.
  17. Absolutely! I love the fact that our lines have always been a point of emphasis. I remember when Willie Jefferson signed here most people were pretty happy but I remember people wanted the money spent on a top receiver. Controlling the lines of scrimmage is the most important part of the game.
  18. Football is won in the trenches. We have the best d-line, and the best o-line in the league. It’s no coincidence we’re the best team in football.
  19. I don’t care about the Hamilton media attention. They’re at home and they have the longest Grey Cup draught. It’s a nice story. I hope the media attention goes to their head like it did in 2019 and we come out and kick them in the teeth. Having the media attention on your side is NEVER a good thing as it adds extra pressure so hopefully we just come out and do our job.
  20. ML was an outstanding football player but kind of a loser off the field I have first hand accounts of him trying to sleep with girls even though he was recently married or engaged at the time.
  21. Exactly. No one wanted to play in Winnipeg in the Tim Burke/Joe Mack era.
  22. Good for us! Loving the endless Canadian talent in the pipeline. Walters is definitely a wizard when it comes to scouting.
  23. Who cares what those clowns think. Pretty sure they all thought Hamilton was going to win in 2019 and look and see where that got them.
  24. If Kevin Glenn was 6’2 he would be in the NFL he had that awkward shot put like mechanics where the majority of the picks he threw sailed high on the receiver, if he was taller he could have had a throwing motion where the ball could be going downwards. But he could really throw the ball.
  25. I don’t follow college football too closely what’s the odds of him coming up here next year or is he going to get a look in the NFL?
