FNF Week 8 CGY vs OTT
100% Exactly what many said last offseason. Bombers rarely develop a QB and when they do they let him get away. But then the club was hamstrung by Zach's big contact.

Blue Bombers - 2024 Regular Season - Discussion Thread
Rasheed Bailey wears his emotions on his sleeve. As a football player, very dependable. Freep says Bombers are talking with his agent. Did Bombers ever explain why they didn't re-sign Bailey in the first place? Now they want to bring back a guy they deemed expendable in the first place. Can we get Janarion Grant back too while we're at it? As many, many others have said, the personnel blunders by Bombers braintrust ...

Blue Bombers - 2024 Regular Season - Discussion Thread
100% Colloros's decline was evident last year. We talked about it extensively. Many of us wanted the Bombers to keep Brown over Collaros. He couldn't throw on target - overthrows, lame duck underthrows, happy feet, panic under pressure - it was like he was slow to process or wasn't willing to take a hit. That was when he had decent pass pro. Dru Brown's throws by contrast were on target and had more zip. Now that some key receivers who bailed him out are injured Zach's deficits are even more on display for all to see. This year is shaping up to be 2017 again for Zach.

Grant ($85k) has scored more return TDs this year than Collaros ($600k) has thrown TD passes. Kyle Walters please stand up!

Such a great returner. That's 3 for him this year - so far.

Zach's decline has been evident for some time. Lawler and Schoen frequently bailed him out by making superhuman grabs. This year that ain't happening and so the QB's failings are even more evident.

GDT - Winnipeg Blue Bombers vs. Saskatchewan Roughriders - Tussle at the Toilet Bowl
The D was able to bring pressure on Patterson. Kyrie Wilson had a good game. I thought Willie J did too. Bighill not so much. BA was a step behind as usual. Nichols missed an important tackle. Holm stumbled at an unfortunate moment. PI against Ford was a joke. It's not like we didn't warn them

The Bighill thread
Did Bighill's final play dirty hit on Patterson count as one of his 3 tackles (official stats) in yesterday's game? He was close to a milestone, hopefully he got it and that'll be that.

Call it what you want … you need to move on from Collaros
The challenge for MOS and crew now is to begin to make the necessary roster changes without making it obvious that they are making the necessary changes.

GDT - Calgary Stampeders vs. Winnipeg Blue Bombers
Stats-wise Bombers have the worst offensive production in the CFL - 1/3 into the season. It's reminiscent of the Matt Nichols game-manager era where the O was putrid but at that time at least we won some games on the strength of solid defence. Thing is, our defence in 2024 is not as good as during the Nichols era - and looks especially vulnerable against the run. Calgary's O is only slightly better than Bombers stats-wise but they have given up the fewest sacks in the league. So unless Collaros really improves his ability to complete a pass under pressure, (ie gets rid of the ball quicker) and until our defence suddenly gets stout in the box, Calgary should win this one. Sincerely hope Bombers go out and play serious bully ball to prove me wrong. Go Blue!

Grant came back from high ankle injury last season a few weeks too early. So it looked like he had lost a step - had trouble making all the cuts. But the whole return team sucked as well. I like that Argos have tried to work him into the offence from time to time. He wanted that in Winnipeg but the O is much less creative than Dinwiddie's schemes. Bombers had Grant running up the gut in traffic - that's how he got hurt. So dumb.

Grant almost broke another one. He's so good. Argos return team better than Bombers as well - this year and last

We must be the first and only team in pro sports with not just one, but two players named Lucky on the roster. Things can only get better from here.

Fun to watch Strev at QB and great to get the W! Hope he's not too banged up. Bombers should start him next game as he gives the club a spark that's absent with Collaros who's on the decline. Brady starting to get going. O-line played like they're starting to feel like a unit. Wille J had a few moments, as did Kyrie. Is it enough? Prob not. The 2 cornerbacks and Holm give me hope. Man, they're good. Castillo = Money! Speaking of which, one of my kids won the 50/50. Whoop Whoop!!

GDT - Ottawa Redblacks vs. Winnipeg Blue Bombers - Let the Redemption Tour Begin!
100% ~ Fans love him. I happened to be in the stands in 2018 when Streveler showed up for his first practice. Something special about him, the casual the way he bounced the football off the turf watching and waiting to take reps but you could tell the dude was wired. Hopefully he remembers he doesn't have to do it all himself.

Nice to see Janarion Grant getting reps and making plays in the offence. Plus a return for 6. Nice to see Sheed making plays. Miss those guys.

3 stars turds and maybe a glimmer of hope
Self-preservation mode vs warrior mode. Maybe you can expect that at age 36 with Zach's history of injuries. Reminds me last couple of years of Matt Nichols. Could've made plays ... but didn't. I'll never forget one play near the end of Nichols time here. 3rd & 10 game on the line. Nichols drops back and the middle opens up. He runs up about 5-6 yards into the open field then spots a defender moving towards him. He could have got the first down easily but saw potential contact - slid down at 7 yards. Game over.

GTD WEEK 4 - BOMBERS @ STAMPS
Who said let him walk? The 3 year deal is/was the problem. Not necessary when you can go 1 by 1 or 1 + 1 with 50% guaranteed in the 2nd year as per CFLPA. Of course it's easy to see this in hindsight.

GTD WEEK 4 - BOMBERS @ STAMPS
Why did they pay him more money? Because we couldn't afford to pay Brown after tying our can to Collaros for 3 yrs at $600k per back in 2022. That's on Walters.
