Yes, we can. /thread.

Game 53 : Red River @ Mississippi
Different strokes for different folks - though I can get the immature comment. I mean, it is twitter tho.... What I was referencing earlier from last night all started with: a) point out Pavs SV% this year b ) get told, "What Garret doesn't tell you 2 pp goals, 1 SH breakaway, 1 was weak, 1 lucky deflection" and "need SV% update of when they really need a save" You can call that immature or emotional. Frankly, with some of the responses he gets like the 2 mentioned above - I think he holds back on the snark a ton. Clearly spent way too much time on this response....no, I don't have a horse in the race, never met the guy. Just find his analysis to be on point.

I don't follow. But I certainly don't know more than anyone employed in the organization, so you're right. Just my $.02

Around The NHL 2016/2017
I'll allow you to retract that. This was straight twitter theft, I just googled the dates.

How so?

Around The NHL 2016/2017
Lindy Ruff fired by Buffalo Feb.20/13 after playing Wpg the day before. Randy Carlyle fired by Toronto Jan.6/15 after playing the Jets most recently, 3 days earlier. Close call....Guy Boucher was fired by Tampa the day of a game vs. Wpg in 2013.

Game 53 : Red River @ Mississippi
Man, if you don't follow @GarretHohl on twitter you missed a doozy last night talking Pavs with fans. Shockingly there are still people who believe Pavelec is better than 6+ years of stats prove. That and some guy hating on Trouba last night make me question the collective sanity of Jets nation.

Game 53 : Red River @ Mississippi
And that's exactly the problem. They play better in front of the vet who's had numerous opportunities as a #1, but can't play in front of the 2nd year guy who's the future? I think it speaks to lack of confidence in their identity. Maurice has gushed quite a bit lately about how the team knows who they are now, knows what it takes to win yadda yadda yadda. The proof is not in the pudding.

Game 53 : Red River @ Mississippi
This is my chief criticism with the organization. I don't feel like they know their team as well as we're lead to believe. On top of that, they've been prone to some questionable decision making. I've probably said in this very thread "kajnbkjfanklfa tanking already?!?! We're 3 pts out!" - - reality is we're almost 2/3 way through the season. We are what our record is, and in theory, the powers to be should have a reasonable expectation as to how we'll finish the year.

Trouba wants out (Trouba has signed)
You said neither, actually. You said they were swimming in cash. But I digress...

Game 53 : Red River @ Mississippi
I agree. And yeah, I know - if you're below the line at US Thanksgiving, chances says you aren't making playoffs anyway. And yeah, I know - there's several teams between us and a playoff spot. BUT we're 3 frickin' points below the line!! 6 of 7 games upcoming are against central teams.... GO. FER. IT! ...christ don't they remember we got all the fortune of a #2 overall pick last year despite winning down the stretch. This whole organization, sans Laine, just reeks at the moment.

Game 53 : Red River @ Mississippi
Honestly, I'm starting to loose patience with Maurice. There is no logic to starting Pavelec Tuesday. The tank is on, only real way to look at it. Wins are now a clear cut secondary priority.

Getting new Jersey...now who to get??
Probably get a good deal on them Glenn jerseys too!

Game 42 : Who Won @ Who Lost
I like 85, and really like the signing at the time. My thinking is just that as the years come and go Perreault's age and role becomes a big factor. How well does he transition from a top 6 scoring role to a bottom 6 checking role, given his size and physical limitations, and given he's 30 this time next year. With Lowry and Armia you can pretty safely pencil both in for 3rd or 4th line mins or more, + PK time, for the next 5-10 years. With Armia, maybe there's an outside chance he compliments the top 6, even. It's like kind of like the comparison amongst our D core. I'm a fan of Myers, but I've long since said IF it was ever about him OR Trouba - I'd personally drive Myers to the airport myself.

Game 42 : Who Won @ Who Lost
AND HAPPY 29th BIRTHDAY MATTY! Sorry my post was against you....lol

Game 42 : Who Won @ Who Lost
I don't like the idea of losing Armia or Lowry. Yeah, yeah tough to make decisions based on small sample size, but there's way too much potential in the 23 yr olds to toss 'em to an expansion team. Hell, I'd be willing to trade Vegas a pick or prospect on the condition they'd take Matty P.

Chevy
That's not really a counterpoint. Frolik left because of money and term we were (or weren't) offering. Besides, it's not as though he went from here to NY or LA - it's Calgary. They are right there with us and Edmonton as far as least-desirable.

Fun Facts about some of our Prospects
Mike Comrie is a better goalie than Pavs.

Game 33 : Florida FC @ Can't Blame The Schedule No More
Speaking of Thorburn, he's at 3 goals now in 27 games. Notables he's now tied with below.... geez, that's a better lineup than Vegas will be getting next season. - Ladd (NYI) 3 goals 27 games - Kane (BUF) 3 goals 16 games - Setoguchi (LAK) 3 goals 24 games - Iginla (COL) 3 goals 27 games - Ryan (OTT) 3 goals 24 games - Doan (ARI) 3 goals 27 games - Hagelin (PIT) 3 goals 28 games - Kuznetsov (WSH) 3 goals 27 games - Steen (STL) 3 goals 23 games - Ribeiro (NSH) 3 goals 27 games - Dubinsky (CBJ) 3 goals 24 games

Game 33 : Florida FC @ Can't Blame The Schedule No More
I like our chances at winning a hockey match vs FLA's football soccer team.

RethinkIng Paul Maurice....
Even with all the injuries we've had, seems to me Maurice has had way too many line combos up front. Even in recent wins we've had stretches of bad play from the FWs, creating little scoring chances and what not. When that happens Mau changes the lines again... I wonder if it starts to wear thin on certain players. I don't follow other teams close enough to know how common this is, but I'd be fascinated to see how many different FW line combos we've had thru 32 games.
-
RethinkIng Paul Maurice....
No one who matters, at least. That's lunacy suggesting he doesn't make us better.

Game 30 : NY Post @ Winnipeg Sun
...all that rambling said, he was useless yesterday and the penalty was inexcusable. No debate there.

Game 30 : NY Post @ Winnipeg Sun
Here's the rub regarding Drew Stafford: His salary is very well in line with others in a similar situation. Signed at 29 years old for 2 years at $8.7M total. 20 goals as recently as last season, and 4 seasons of such during his career. Let's not pretend this guy is a bum... So, to me, if it's a "should Stafford be on this team" conversation - it's a no brainer. We're better with him on the roster than not. If it's a "he's a bottom 6 guy now, not top 6, and NO pp time" convo - then I'm supportive of the anti-Drew sentiment. If Drew Stafford wasn't in this organization tomorrow I GUARANTEE fans would be up in arms about how little of the cap we've spent. You want MORE youth and more youth only replacing him? You figure there's a better 29 yr old FW with his pedigree who'd sign here for 2 years? I think not.
-
RethinkIng Paul Maurice....
What makes you say that? I subscribe to the theory that the Jets like their own, and are less likely than many to shake things up.... But no way does he get term like that if this team misses the playoffs again, that I'd put money on. (And by money, I mean nothing. I'm still waiting for the "I'd be shocked if Laine scored 20" poster to do an about face)
