I've noticed that Goltz needs to work on how he does this zone-read play - It seems like of he doesn't look up during the hand-off to check the ends... almost like they've decided to run/not-run before the play even starts rather than a read-option where he decides based on the movement of the ends during the hand-off.

Our offense basically didn't get to see the field in the third quarter... What did we have one or two series in the 3rd (and one of the series I think we actually moved the ball a bit until we turned it over on the 3rd down gamble)

I agree... it looks more like 3 yards, and maybe about a yard out of bounds when you consider the angle from which it was kicked it's hard to say it was such a terrible call

I would actually expect that what he told West very closely resembles what he told the media. I also don't think this is a particularly empty threat... If West were to screw up really badly again in the near future I wouldn't be surprised to see him cut.

Ok that makes sense then... Although the ball ended up to Giguere's outside shoulder but Johnson misread it in the air (I guess he knew it should have been thrown to the inside since he ran to try and contest the catch for a ball thrown to the inside)

Matthews certainly hasn't been impressing - I just see Johnson as being another guy who has been making clear mistakes weekly - this coming after I was defending his place on the team last week. Just saw him blow his coverage for BIG gains twice last game... it's never acceptable to give up a 61 yrd td. Although after the TD to Giguere he looked back at someone else in the D like he thought someone wasn't where they were supposed to be... did he expect help over the top on that play?
