This is not a new thought, but this team needs to start developing it's own players ...
Bomber fans have demonstrated time and time again that they do not have the patience required to develop a new qb. Right, it's the fans' fault... You saying that this team hasn't made knee jerk reactions because fans in the city are growing restless? It's still not the fans' fault. You don't deserve to be a GM if you make personnel decisions based on popularity polls.

Collaros Released, Signs With Hamilton
As Bomber fans to the end, we should stand back to back so we can save money on bullets.

Sweet Jesus would things suck if we miss out on Burris too.

What I meant was that our talent is significantly better than what they had. Our D played terribly, but we mixed in some dominating performances with the stink. That 2012 Ticats D had the least amount of talent I can remember a team ever assembling.

While I disagree with your opinion on the two defenses, I have to respect your references to drugs & kool-aid to make your point. And who doesn't like a catchy nickname like "sport".

Collaros Released, Signs With Hamilton
Based on what? He was at the helm of a team that won six games in 2012. Granted Hamilton's defence was terrible that year, but right now ours isn't much better. Compared to the Ticats D in 2012? Our D is light years ahead of that train wreck.

Penton: Burris likely headed to Winnipeg?
You have to look all the way back to 2012.

Collaros Released, Signs With Hamilton
I agree with this. I can't articulate why, but I was way more certain that Reilly was going to be a legit qb compared to how I fee about Collaros. Same with Willy for that matter. I'd be happy with a Burris/Hall 1-2 punch heading into the season. Hall's only one year older. I also agree that it would be fantastic to watch Austin struggle with his new wonderboy this season.

Lawless just tweeted that Barker wanted our #2 overall pick for his rights.

Penton: Burris likely headed to Winnipeg?
Matthew Scianitti @TSNScianitti 1m #CFL sources say Henry Burris will be released by the #Ticats Welcome to Winnipeg Mr. Burris. Hopefully you make all the haters (yes, I said haters) suck your ass this season.

Collaros Released, Signs With Hamilton
I've never wanted somebody to fail (in the CFL) more than I do Collaros right now.

Drew Edwards just reported the Ticats have reached an agreement with him.

Penton: Burris likely headed to Winnipeg?
Not at all. Some fans here feel that way, but I guarantee the average fan would be thrilled to hear we've acquired a veteran QB like Burris, 38 years old or not. I think most casual fans would be happy with either one, provided the news tells them they should be excited.

Sure we can. Lots of teams have more than one good player.

Bombers trade Aprile for DB Matt Bucknor
I remember Bucknor's name, but not a lot about his performance. Dropping from a regular starter in 2012 to a part time player in 2013 doesn't sound promising, although to be fair it's generally harder for a Canadian to get playing time in the secondary. I wonder if this is a case of Aprile not wanting to come back, or if Walters knows we're getting a few of our Canadian receivers back and doesn't need him.

He hasn't. As per the thread title, Collaros was released.

The qb landscape would get pretty interesting/scary in Collaros landed an NFL contract.

Penton: Burris likely headed to Winnipeg?
No, the last thing we need is another bad qb. Burris is pretty good, so signing him would avoid that problem for at least a year or two.

If Tsoumpas or Bourke make it to free agency...
People were upset ? Lots of them. MItchell was the obvious choice. He was an o-lineman and Henoc was raw in a typically american position. Should have taken the guy who could step in right now and make the OL better. Lots of people are upset about anything the Bombers do. I don't recall Muamba over Mitchell being any better or worse than normal. There were lots of people on both sides of the fence on that one.

Penton: Burris likely headed to Winnipeg?
Me too. We haven't had quality qb play since 2007, so I'd be just fine with the 2x defending passing leader coming to town.

Collaros to test free agency
http://ht.ly/t1hFp It was a year ago this week that the Edmonton Eskimos traded for Mike Reilly to get exclusive negotiating rights with the quarterback two weeks before he was set to become a free agent. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers might want to do the same with Zach Collaros if they really desire his services, because there are rumblings in the CFL right now that the Hamilton Tiger-Cats could be a destination for the Toronto Argonauts backup. The Bombers are the only team without a bona fide No. 1 quarterback right now, so the thinking is Collaros, who sources say is looking at Gil Scott or Dan Vertlieb to represent him in his upcoming negotiations, will head to Winnipeg on Feb. 15. Not so fast, as it appears the Hamilton Tiger-Cats will figure significantly into what happens with Winnipeg's quarterback situation -- for two reasons. First of all, there are more than a few people throughout the CFL who think veteran Henry Burris will end up signing in Winnipeg when he becomes a free agent on Feb. 15. "Three people told me today they think Burris will end up in Winnipeg over the Ticats," a CFL source told the Sun. Burris wouldn't exactly be a long-term answer for the Blue and Gold, as he will turn 39 years old during the first week of training camp, but he would give the reeling franchise an instant upgrade and be an excellent mentor for the team's young pivots. The second factor in all of this is the Ticats are apparently very interested in bringing Collaros to Steeltown. They have not made any offers to Burris, and a source said the Ticats are hoping Collaros hears about their interest through the league grapevine. The Tabbies also have Dan LeFevour and Jeremiah Masoli in the fold, so Collaros could conceivably have a shot at the No. 1 gig there with Burris out of the picture. Sources say the Bombers aren't convinced Collaros is a sure-fire No. 1 gun given his limited starting experience and wouldn't mind having a more experienced pivot on the roster to go along with him. The way it's looking now, they might end up getting the experienced quarterback instead of Collaros.

Bombers resign Alex Suber
I realize that. My question was did he re-sign during the season, or originally sign for 3 years?
