those phone calls are the absolute worst....we have so many morons within the so-called "fan" base...

some years back, the team actually went so far as to ban access to Paul Friesen because of some things he said. I wouldn't be averse to the club at least "limiting" Paul Wiecek....

an idiotic piece, but the thing I saw that is even worse than this....there's a lady who I believe is a former print media person, who now writes some kind of blog that is well respected within the Winnipeg media community, and she wrote this big piece backing up Wiecek talking about why he's completely correct. It was PAINFUL to read....

I'm not going to judge this D completely until we have key members back (soon).....once Bruce Johnson and Mo Leggett are back in there, and people are playing proper positions, then I'll judge 'em appropriately...

this whole "icing the kicker" thing is a level of insanity that's high even for this board. Someone came on the OB post-game show talking about that, and I thought they were drunk. Irving had no clue what they were even talking about. Completely ridiculous to even THINK that.....

I think I'm just not sure why you need to try and spin it negatively, rather than celebrating it for what it is, which is largely positive. Why go out of your way to look for the negative?

Again, people seem to think that because the team doesn't air grievances publicly, then it's not being done at all. Without a doubt, there's a lot of screaming and yelling that goes on, and they make sure **** gets fixed (or at least they try to fix it).....but you don't air anything in public. Everything stays within the walls of the offices/meeting rooms......which is how it should be.

Yeah, Heather is a hardcore Ukrainian, and does a lot of traditional cooking, so she wants to have a menu that features different types of perogies, sausage, sauerkraut, beet leaves, pedehay (sp??!!), etc.....along with normal pub grub.... Not sure there's enough demand for yet another "resort" (cabins, etc) in that area, but maybe.....and you're right that it might be the only way to make a go of 'er...

ha ha you can fight my chick for "master taster" but the rest, you're in....... The only issue with a Brew Pub at SSF (as with ANYTHING at SSF...) is what do you do in the winter? 'Cause anyone familiar with the North Whiteshell knows that it's a ghost area come winter. Not to say there aren't people at all, but compared to summer, it's really dead, and tough to make a go there. A lot of my idea has to do with the fact that our family farmed a big chunk of land immediately to the west of the park gates for a long time. There's a road there named after us. My grandfather sold the land about 15 years ago, but I'd love to buy back a plot and put Whiteshell Brew Co up there, on our old land, right on the edge of the park. A unique factor would be using the pristine water of the Winnipeg River, which is literally a couple hundred feet away, to make the beer...
