Starters in T.O.
wild not starting = fail.

CFL cuts
telling Kelly to get ****** shouldn't be a black mark on a player. You know who else Mike Kelly said had a bad attitude? Doug Brown.

Ottawa @ Montreal
yeah but Calgary had starters on D too and Willy looked like he coulda gone for 400+ yards passing if he played the whole game and his receivers didn't grease up their hands before the game. Calgary wasn't all that impressive against Winnipeg either, defensively at least.

all aboard the Cornish train.

The Rum Thread
that's because the captain is a dirty double crossing bastard who will kick your ass and leave you to die on a deserted island.
-
The Rye Thread
is it wrong that we started buying gibsons finest a lot simply because they're a CFL sponsor? Honestly if I'm buying rye I tend to just go with Crown Royal, it's what I grew up drinking so it just kind of stuck with me.

The Rum Thread
yeah rum is just bad news all around... we don't get along rum and I

QB - Could Hall get cut?
if we're holding last years record against players then we should have had a LOT more new faces this year than we do.

CFL cuts
he's better than Kelly so absolutely. Thought the Bellefool man crush is a powerful force.

Bombers Hire Additional Staff
I just don't see how anyone can spin this as a bad move... It's an entry level position that they created simply because they liked the guy as a guest coach. That to me seems like a smart way to do things. Hey we like what this guy is doing, let's create a spot for him on the staff and see if he grows into more than just a quality control coach.

Ottawa @ Montreal
Braley has ruled the CFL with an iron fist for a long time now.

Ottawa @ Montreal
how do you figure that?

Bombers Hire Additional Staff
and when you've fired as many coaches as the bombers have recently experienced rock solid coaches don't want to go through that ****. Let's face it the last decade this team has been dragged through all kinds of **** and it's going to take time to repair the reputation.

Ottawa @ Montreal
I said it in the offseason, it's the worst time to move west for the Bombers. Man I woulda loved to stay in the east just one more year. All you gotta worry about then is Ray, in the west it's tougher. But I guess this is all part of the pander to Southern Ontario mentality that the CFL is so fond of.

Preseason QB Totals
if nothing else this pre-season made me hopeful that Willy can get the job done. I liked a lot of things that the offense showed, I think they can be decent this year which let's face it is a huge step up from the last 3 or 4 years.

Ottawa @ Montreal
Same old Brink. Send pressure he's not doing anything.

FXFL
I just don't understand how minor league football leagues don't take hold... Hockey and baseball can both make a go of it why not football?

Ottawa @ Montreal
There was one pass Smith threw in the first half that was just a flat out amazing pass... then there were the ones that landed nowhere near a receiver. Michael Bishop had more accuracy than that.

Roster Cut Discussion
yeah but what kind of schemes are they running? A veteran like Burris should be able to pick apart a vanilla D no trouble.
-
Roster Cut Discussion
Of course, I've been proven wrong before. Henry making those guys look like allstars against Montreal right now. veteran looks good in preseason against god knows what kind of competition... stop the presses.

Ottawa @ Montreal
post calvillo als look to be in trouble.

The Scotch thread
That is a starter single malt. Its a little harsh but you can really taste that it tastes like pears and its nice to start of with something where you can really get the notes easily. Harsh really isn't a problem, I kinda like my booze to burn a little bit on the way down.

Roster Cut Discussion
They didn't start but Markett and WIld did generate some buzz in preseason, Dunn started and started the year pretty well I think. Last year being the 3rd year for the GM it does make sense though that there were less spots for rookies, a lot of the spots were being filled by players that regime brought in previous years as you would expect.

CFL cuts
I think it's probably not a bad thing in the big picture. Lets you get a good idea who your team is going to be and you can focus on preparing those players to start the season rather than still having to evaluate a bunch of players.

Roster Cut Discussion
Oh good. A 35 year old Korey Banks and an MLB who no one else wanted. what about randle? willy? moore? newman? eventhough he is hurt. Unless a starting qb, starting cb and starting receiver isn't good enough. Can i ask you an honest question? What exactly did you expect from this regime in one off season? for them to completely over haul the team? Cuz i don't think that was likely, our main issue is our lack of non import depth, that can't and won't be fixed any time soon, that will take time through drafting. Do you think Winnipeg was high on the list of free agent destinations? We were the joke of the league last season, it's going to take some time to get rid of that reputation. You don't lose that reputation over a few months, it's going to take a few years. We were 3-15 last season, most free agents in every sport wont sign with a team that Sucked. We sucked. It sucks that we sucked but, before going and writing this new group off, should probably give them a chance first. None of those excuses matter when it comes to import competition, talking rookies, not veteran CFL free agents. 99% of the time they have no say in where they end up in the CFL if they decide to pursue the CFL, they could care less about the history of the Blue Bombers. This is the worst competition among import spots I can remember since Taman ended up running the show solo after Ritchie was fired, basically the only solid competition was at DB, and Maher was a good option too. Import scouting and procurement is something a front office can really control, whereas the non-import issue is a longer term solution of drafting and developing. Hopefully some of the rookie imports who made the team show us a little more when the games count. People can say what they will about Joe Macks failings but the man did know how to bring in some rookie talent.
