I don't want to confuse talent with heart. Right now, I'd say thanks to O'Shea and co. on the coaching side, we've got brains and heart. That goes a long way in football. Talent-wise, I wouldn't say we're much better than Ottawa. Where we'll beat em is if we can out think them and out-work them. The key will be getting Hank to turn into Frank, which is all about getting through their O-Line and containing Hank so he can't beat us with his legs. I think you underestimate the players we have defensively. There are a lot of good talented players on this defense. Particularly in the secondary. When I look at the receivers Ottawa is trotting out I give an edge to our secondary without hesitation.

I think based on the preseason games and game 1 that this shouldn't really be a concern. Willy showed very good ability to see the field and make the right throws, I don't see Ottawa doing anything that really confuses him. The D is another matter but I suspect that they'll simply outmatch Ottawa because let's be completely honest here, they don't have a lot of talent outside of Burris.

Archer and Arrested development, the two most over rated shows in history. Not surprising because it seems a lot of the same people are involved. They're mildly amusing shows at best but not worth nearly the hype they get. I maintain that the people who rave about those shows are people who are desperately looking for something to like that isn't mainstream.

and chevon walker isn't likely to take much pressure off of him either. Oh sure he'll bust a big play here and there but in terms of getting consistency in the running game, not going to happen.

I think people have a skewed perception of what actually constitutes a top 6 player... everyone looks at the deep teams and wants that but most teams don't have those kinds of players in their top 6. There's a lot of ordinary players play top 6 roles.

The concern for the Jets is that a lot of the competition in the west made moves to improve themselves. Not that I think they would be wise to make a big splash or sign people just for the sake of signing them, but the west didn't get any easier to play in after today and the Jets aren't the only team there that can count on improvement from their young players in order to get better.

FA price vs. RFA price. Just wait what is it one more year? and Toews and Kane will be making way more than Statsny. Salaries go up all the time, that's why teams will try and lock people up to long term deals if they feel they're worth it. Overpay in the short term hoping it works out in the long term.
