The only thing he knows better than anyone is not paying your debts.

Well if that's the standard then everyone can sue the USA. Just no self awareness amongst Republicans is there?

I work for a health and safety consulting firm, I am aware of how things work. And i can tell you right now it always always always comes down to are the supervisors and management enforcing things. Workers by and large are ignorant, they need the supervisors and management to enforce thing. Cause you can't have someone from ohs on location all the time. So yeah the blame ultimately lies with management. When I go to a site I know if it will be good or bad simply based on which company it is.

So with health and safety it ultimately comes down to are the workers following safety procedures and are the managers enforcing them. You can look at what a company puts on paper and it looks good, but if it's not implemented what do you do short of having someone fro OHS there all the time?
  5. Back in the days when not every game was on TV. I remember having to listen to this on the radio. Thank god Bob Irving is a legend, but yeah I can vividly remember sitting there listening to this one.

You sure like to move the goal posts you know that right? People try and corrupt science to meet their political needs, but science is pure. Other than quacks who get discredited very quickly scientists have no agenda, only the search for answers. It's ignorant people who try and corrupt research, but they're not engaged in science, only trying to justify their silly positions.

No one is talking about correlation vs. Causation. And the first rule of science isn't that. Science is impartial. Conclusions are drawn based on the evidence and tested for repeatability to ensure the correct conclusion is reached. Where a lot of people like you fail is you find a conclusion you like then try and pretend to find evidence to fit that conclusion. The fundamental thing about science is that it's flexible and always changing and adapting and believing what the evidence says. Economics is little more than sophisticated guessing.

They can call it science all they like, it doesn't make it true because there are too many variables that can make the models completely worthless.
  9. 17to85 replied to JCon's post in a topic in General Discussion
For example, the obviously biased article you posted may cite a legit study, but economics have so very many variables that you can't accurately make predictions. The key with these corona virus lock downs is government support of people and small businesses, which is outside the norm which throws all the modelling done in a study completely out the window. So no, there won't be that many suicides unless a government fails to act. In which case it won't be a lockdown that causes it but a government neglecting and mistreating the population.

Economics are not science. Yeah they try really hard to science it up and treat it like it is science, but it really isn't.

Well it was about that time I realized he was about 8 stories tall and a crustacean from the paleolithic era...

Just the language used is enough to know the author was a conspiracy nut. They all write in the same manner using hyperbole and opinions passed off as facts.

    What a load of crap.

This is what I was going to say. Manitoba jumped on the restrictions early comparatively and that is one of the biggest reasons for the low numbers.
  15. I am very late to the party but I finally got around to watching the Rise of Skywalker and while I understand the criticisms people have for the movie, I found it a lot better than The Last Jedi and believe that a lot of the reasons for the problems this movie has is because of how disjointed the trilogy became because of the **** sandwich that Rian Johnson fed us with The Last Jedi. That movie made Finn and Poe 100% irrelevant and trying to make them more in the third film was forced. Which is dumb because clearly you set them up to be the new heros in the first one but then crap all over them in the 2nd? There's no coming back from that. You set up a potential new big bad in the first but kill him without any sort of payoff in the 2nd so what's left for the third? Trying to subvert expectations was the wrong call with the 2nd movie because it left them with nothing for the third movie and a completely disjointed trilogy. So in summary, it's Rian Johnson's fault.
  16. Stegall was clutch too. When you needed a play he would make one even when everyone in the building knew you were looking to him.
  17. I believe Noeller was talking about the first time, when Simon came back from the nfl. He was replaced by Arland Bruce basically. Honestly for me Geroy Simon is the most over rated all time receiver. Yeah he was good, but I don't know how I can rate him above a lot of guys. I dunno, he just never wowed me the way a lot of guys do.

It would be nice to have federal leadership that doesn’t make acquiring essential medical equipment seem more like buying a heroin shipment. ADVERTISING Well that's for Jared Kushner's stockpile. There's profit to be had. So what if people might die? That's the best time to exploit them!

He's learned his lesson in her mind. Seriously the Republicans in the senate have spoken. Trump is above the law.

I just do not understand how someone can wear an N95 mask upside down... it's not rocket appliances.... they are shaped to fit one way on your face. It's just pants on head ******** to get it wrong.

    Fascist.
  22. Stegall finally got a good qb and he started breaking records. The guy is the absolute best. And the times he was in the grey cup game he was also fantastic. Just let down by rhe5rest of the team. Him not having a cup is the greatest shame in CFL history.

Well obviously. The poor people aren't really people. Rich lives matter.

He loves his weasel words. Never outright says it, but heavily implies it. He takes no responsibility that way.

Kenney isn't stupid but he is an ideologue. He will hurt anyone he needs to to see his ideology implemented.
