Who should we bring in to replace our OC
Wasn't that when he was already an OC? He's just a QB coach now, so he should be ready to listen. No, that's when he was a QB coach for the Roughriders. We offered him OC and he said no, that he wanted to be HC. I'm not sure what happened after that, but he took a job OCing in BC instead of coming here. Then when they hired Cortez, they made Cortez OC and QB Coach, and they demoted Khari and now he's Receivers Coach, not a QB Coach. They didn't offer Khari Jones anything. It was heavily rumoured that Miller preferred him for certain jobs, but that was essentially baseless and founded on the fact that they have a personal relationship, idle gossip. He interviewed for OC prior to last season and O'Shea decided to stick with Bellefeuille. Why are people making things up about Khari Jones now? Sorry, I didn't mean we offered him OC, I meant he interviewed for it. And I'm not making things up. Many of the guys in the media stated that he wanted HC position and wouldn't come here for just the OC position (take that for what it's worth considering it's the Winnipeg media). The only place I've ever heard or read this is on this message board.

"Make him throw from the pocket"
Mostly because if Cato's first read isn't there he's leaving the pocket regardless of how much time he has. Feel bad for those OL, it's the worst blocking for a QB with happy feet like that because you never know what he's doing. You could have a great pocket and then the idiot runs right into the pass rusher that you've blocked perfectly.

Who should we bring in to replace our OC
The one about the "old boys club" of Miller, Walters and O'Shea, which is laughable. People are really expecting mid-season firings with a 3-4 record? Lapolice had an interesting point on 1290 yesterday about developing quarterbacks in Winnipeg. Hopefully the mob doesn't turn on Marve when he struggles, which is almost 100% certain.

Who should we bring in to replace our OC
Walters & O'Shea along with Miller are triplets. I doubt anyone gets fired. They're all good friends. You're really committed to this conspiracy eh?

Or how much playing a team with no offence at all helps.

If Montreal had any offense the game would have been over by halftime. Edmonton repeatedly handed the Als the ball.

Too bad you can't challenge offensive PI. Holy hell did Bailey ever push off on that big play that's probably going to win Edmonton the game.

87 on Edmonton is getting away with some pretty huge push offs, hard to sympathize with Montreal though as SJ Green has made a career of that.

Big assumption there is that we have 4 healthy import receivers who are better than the NI's. We don't. Also the "starting" 8 NI's doesn't limit how they use the imports at all.Well if we don't dress the import cause we are going to play 8 can then I'm not sure you understand the argument.Last week we were going to go with 4 imports when Moore was gonna dress but instead of dressing jhomo Gordon when Moore couldn't play we went back to 3 imp Rev 2 Cnd get it?BTW if you think dressing jfg over veltung is the way to go not much more I can say to ya really. The Bombers are playing the maximum number of imports allowed. Starting 8 Canadians doesn't change that. I don't prefer JFG to Veltung, but I prefer him to Jhomo Gordon, who is a project to put it mildly. Having Jhomo Gordon on the roster last week wouldn't have made a lick of difference. I feel bad for you if you truly are just judging CFL players by their passports. Gordon was terrible in both preseason games. Hopefully he's learned how to run his routes and read the defense to get open and on the same page as his QB in the last couple months.Well MOS is playing Jhomo instead of going with Jfg and Kohler as starters with another can as a backup. So your liking Jfg over jhomo is not seen by the Blue coaches.I like Jfg but his speed doesn't scare anyone. Feoli-Gudino and Kohlert are in the exact same positions they were last week. The depth chart is on page 1 of this thread. Gordon is in for Adams.

Or Lavarias and Hebert are healthy and better football players right now. Sam being cut is very likely, he was horrible last week.

To be fair, Willy has been guilty of this in the past as well. Guys with little mobility run into those problems just as often. I've never seen Willy bail out of a perfect pocket like I've seen Cato do a half dozen times already in this game.

Cato showing the perils of a guy who can't or won't do much from the pocket. Perfect pass pro and he runs into a sack.

If Veltung is actually healthy, Gordon better be excellent. Veltung has been such a reliable target for the QB's.

Actually our DL has been excellent for the last month, all without Peach, a couple without Turner. It was terrible with them.

Pass interference in general is so poorly applied, inconsistent. They need to make it really simple. If a DB is not playing the ball, has no idea where the ball is, facing the other direction, any contact needs to be flagged. If a DB is playing the ball, some contact should be allowed with consideration to timing of the arrival of the pass. Obviously it's never going to be purely black and white, but they need to move the needle in that direction.

Interesting that Glen Johnson admitted today that in the Montreal game the Sutton TD should not have been called a TD as the ball didn't cross the plane. Play was reviewed, was a scoring play, still couldn't get it right. Also think it was one the line judge on the field didn't quite see as he was scrambling to not get hit and just called a TD so they would review it. Time to take the "undisputable evidence" piece out of the reviews and just make the right call? Probably make the officials on the field do their jobs in a way that relies less on having the safety net of replay too.

Aug 12 practice
If that's the case, how bad is Goossen that he can't replace a guy with a broken thumb who was basically letting DT's take free runs at Willy?

In terms of reliability for a young QB, I'd take Feoli-Gudino over Jhomo Gordon 10 times out of 10.

Bars, Night Clubs & Dives from Back in the Day
The big appeal of Pembina bars was how cheap they were. I was always there for $.25 draft nights. It was perfect for university students. Fixed prices put an end to that. Yeah, and the competition. LId, Monty's, Wise Guys, Beach(Scandals), Coyotes, Pemby. An enormous amount of people at bars on Pembina on the weekends. And they'd shift based off a $0.25 price change. If we had a friday dying, we could lower price a quarter and boom, we were packed. The minimum pricing thing was a scam. Before minimum pricing, people would go to the bar at 7:00 because it was so cheap. After minimum pricing, people didnt go out til 10 because it was cheaper to pick up a case or mickey from the LC and pre-drink at home. And that was the point of minimum pricing. No one drank less. There were not less people getting black out drunk. That kid died because of a failure on the part of himself, his friends and the bar. We used to have $0.75 shooters, $1 shots. On weekends when prices were higher we'd still have "Saturator Saturdays" with triples for $3. It was mostly a liability issue for the people holding the license and the MLCC. I can't think of a place in Canada I've traveled in recent years that doesn't have those minimums now, even Alberta. We used to go to Banff every year and each night there was a different special at a different bar, quarter drafts, dollar highballs. Not anymore.

Both BS. Our D has actually been somewhat dominant since Collins went into the lineup. Not enthused to see all the guys who made up an extremely mediocre DL back in the lineup together.

Brick back Joey Elliott
He's played what, 4 games? And cost his team 2 TD's on turnovers that were 100% on him, plus a single that should have never happened, then wasted 10 seconds and lost yards in one point game. That's far too many huge negative plays from a returner. If he's going to cost the team points, it doesn't really matter if he has a couple good plays.
