Game day roster
Not sure that makes a difference. Need both.

Als @ Leos
Well that didn't take long.

What to do about the D?
He's #70?

What to do about the D?
Couture actually plays quite a bit, they run a fair amount of tight end sets with him. I honestly think if they went 6 OL on the roster for games Neufeld wouldn't dress, he really only comes in for jumbo sets. IMO this roster is a little heavy on guys that can't or aren't given the opportunity to contribute outside of special teams. Five by my count, six if you include Lankford, seven with the backup imp LB that hasn't really factored in yet. That's a lot. I think you might be overestimating Conteh a bit though. Project IMO. He's always kind of a been a "once he figures out football" kinda kid who is a great athlete but not necessarily a football player.

Game day roster
Lankford better break out soon. I feel like at receiver we could probably get by with a NI replacing him and use that import spot elsewhere, keeping in mind that Flanders takes the majority of reps in that spot and Lankford is basically a backup. Personally don't give a **** about a kickoff return specialist because if O and D the playing well we shouldn't be returning many kickoffs.

What to do about the D?
More likely they swap him in for an end.

Midseason record predictions
12-6. Still have 3 against the East, BC at home twice, Sask at home, Calgary and Edmonton on the road. Should be able to win 5 of those.

what to fix
That's not the rules that's a fan article on a website. Teams declare a number of NIs on each side of the ball and must maintain that as minimum, but it has nothing to do with positions. If Loffler went out we could go all import in the secondary and replace the NI spot anywhere on D if we were starting 7 NIs. The only positions that are declared are DIs, who can only sub in balance of the ratio and QBs.
-
what to fix
Nobody is declared but the QB's and DI's. See if you can figure out how it works from there.
-
what to fix
Nope. You have a backup import on your roster who isn't declared as a DI who can sub in for anyone as long as your declared ratio numbers on that side of the ball are fulfilled.

3 stars plus HH LDC edition.
Pretty simple. You have that time between the end of one play and refs whistling in play on the next one to take a knee if you need medical attention/substitution. If a guy takes a knee once play is whistled in (the Bombers were over the ball when 2 of the 3 "injuries" after play whistled in occurred) or needs out a team timeout should be used/charged. No timeout, delay of game penalty. NFL does this after the two minute warning each half, actually more severely because no matter when the player goes down the team is charged timeout/penalty. It is extremely rare for a player to go down that late when it is not on purpose.

What to do about the D?
Well everyone in the front is in responsible for a gap but the "LB's" need to read run vs pass and pick in their zone/man too. The whole D does that and that's where guys like Heath and Randle have been getting burned worrying about coming up to run support/keep contain. Our MLB blitzes often but is also often in man coverage and zone coverage. When a DL drops out they usually are just dropping to a spot. I've only seen longer highlight tapes of Mulumba from his junior and senior year at EMU but vast majority of plays on those tapes (YouTube) he's in a 3 or 4 point rush stance and coming up field. If we have any DL I'd have some confidence in to move to LB it's Jeffcoat.
-
what to fix
Thomas wasn't anywhere near 80% of snaps. Closer to half. Jeffcoat and Okpalaugo took more reps. Only guy who played almost every down was Nevis, only came out for one package on 2nd and extremes plus one entire series where they went 4 DE's. They are all playing bad. Maybe Westerman needs to take a couple 15s to get his mojo back.
-
What to do about the D?
A guy who has never played off the line of scrimmage at a higher level is going to have a hell of a time with reads and footwork off of it IMO, in a league where 75-80% of the plays are passing. It would be a project. Why don't we put Westerman at MLB?
-
what to fix
Don't get hung up on the 8 NIs "starting" on paper. That's all it is. Gives flexibility to move NI slots to either side of the ball in case of injury, otherwise you are stuck with where you started the 7.

What to do about the D?
He's from Montreal and they need Canadians bad. We don't really have a roster spot/cap space for him and would probably gladly take a draft pick or two and a neg lister perhaps.

Richie Hall Owns This Defensive Stink ... Must Be Gone At Season's End
That's probably the most frustrating thing about this roster. There are Americans on our team who completely don't belong on a CFL roster, even after a few years, like Knox, Lankford. These guys should be interchangeable, you shouldn't need more than a season or even a few games to figure out how to play WIL at a decent level and not screw up in basic ways. If someone is still making these mistakes after two games you run the next guy in there. Knox is done. As for Lankford, he's great at taking kickoffs from the goaline to the 25 and out of bounds. We need better and it's a joke that he's taking regular snaps at receiver. Thorpe, Washington, probably most of the NIs we have kicking around and about 5000 wannabe pros in the US could fill that role and be more productive. Time to say sayonara.

Have a weird feeling we'll be trading him to Montreal in the next two weeks.
