Kicking Discussion
Punt is easiest for the defense to block, especially when they give no fucks about setting up a return. If you want to kick it out of the side of the endzone you do it off the tee. Prefontaine used to do this all the time as a kind of fake because he was a terrible placekicker, you can coffin corner a placekick and the ball is dead where it goes out of bounds, or you can drop it in the corner bouncing and let a returner figure it out. Anyways in this case you want it to go out. Like someone else said this all comes down to having practiced this or not. The other option would be to run a play with some time left and have a receiver kick it through. Throw a quick pass underneath, guy turns and kicks. Usually see that if it's a bit deeper than you'd be comfortable FG range, or off a kickoff return (Calgary tried it down 41-40 last week after BC hit the go-ahead FG). Really though should be able to hit a 32 yard FG....and if it's wide hammer it high and deep, cover it to trap the returner if it doesn't get past the touch line. Easiest way to win would have been for the O to keep playing instead of wasting six snaps to bleed clock and set up a FG attempt....IMO.

2022 CFL Season - Non Back 2 Back Champs News
Kind of a weird standings situation IMO. Sask isn't too far in the rear-view. They win 3-4 in a row and they are fighting for 1st-2nd especially if those games are against BC and us. Calgary is basically out of the picture unless they go on a run and beat BC at the end of September. I'm interested to see how their D looks with all the guys back. I think the Bombers might want to start thinking like BC and having 3 imports on the line, get a look at Witt at center or guard.

At least the Bombers are the only team that didn't pass on him at the draft. Walters can always say he would have taken him.

We call it Testee Toss and if you play it on a dock it improves your accuracy really quick.

Yeah I’m not surprised a cable channel died. Just from following the Q2 earnings calls of all the entertainment/tech/cable companies the number of people buying cable is dropping rapidly especially in the US. It’s quite possible in the near future that entities like TSN and Sportsnet don’t exist in the form where they have capital to invest in production. They might just exist as versions or parts of streaming services as they lose carriage fees from increasing loss of cable subscribers. What cable provided was lots of cash flow for channels regardless of viewership. It’s drying up fast. Streaming is the opposite…needs actual viewers/subscribers to specific content. Seems to me teams and leagues are starting to realize they need to produce their own content and maybe package some of it out to streaming services if they don’t create their own.

I don't really understand how Harris could play with that injury. Ball security will be a huge concern, either he's in pain or frozen.

Former Bombers in NFL (and spring leagues) news
I think he's in a good spot to be the active backup. Their starter is a RPO guy, Flacco is useless and a pocket guy, Mike White is a pocket guy. I think they need a RPO guy on the game roster behind Wilson and if he's hurt they can flip to the pocket guys. If he gets cut he'll have 4-5 teams at least after him.

These pro teams building their own production units to me is a huge hedge against broadcast and cable television basically not existing by the time the current media deals expire. Would not be surprised by the end of the decade if teams/leagues are producing their own broadcasts and streaming them/farming them out to streaming services.

2022 CFL Season - Back 2 Back Champs News
Regardless of record I see Sask being a tough opponent for our team. Their pass rush is great, they have two great backs. If they gameplan for us well it'll be a tough game. If we're going with the formula of our offense scoring 2 TD's but turning the ball over as many times or more it's going to get harder and harder to win games. Offense needs to be a lot better.

Calgary is basically out of the race for a home playoff game unless someone implodes. The math for them doesn't work unless they can go 7-3 or better with 2 of those 7 wins against BC.

Week 10 Non-Champs Games
I think he’s exactly where Nichols was in 18-19…next injury is basically a career-ender.
-
Week 10 Non-Champs Games
He’s nowhere near good enough as a passer IMO. He’ll have to throw the ball 50-55 times to get 300 yards with how inaccurate he is. Not a bad backup.
-
Week 10 Non-Champs Games
Think the panel needs to talk more about BLM and how useless he is. Calgary now losing how we did with Nichols. Blow leads from D and ST big plays when the O just can’t score another FG or TD or hardly even get a first down.

Week 10 Non-Champs Games
That return touchdown before half was the TSN turning point. Literally every Edmonton player on the field was between the right hash and the sideline. If that was by design it’s extremely stupid and otherwise was just such undisciplined play.

Week 10 Non-Champs Games
BLM just can’t make the plays needed to win.

Yeah and if you’re so obviously not trying to gain yards and score just take knees to bleed clock, or put Prukop out just to roll forward.

Calgary down two Canadian receivers.

Week 10 Non-Champs Games
Nah we want Calgary to win precisely because we already have the tiebreaker.

Great play call for BC against that blitz. Take advantage of inexperienced MLB and Judge.

Week 10 Non-Champs Games
Almost exactly same look from Calgary that Bombers gave Rourke on the Jeffcoat TD.
-
Week 10 Non-Champs Games
BLM is pretty useless at this point unless he’s throwing a guy that’s wide open.

Week 10 Non-Champs Games
Quite likely they are setting something else up.

Week 10 Non-Champs Games
Teach our guys can’t launch or land from/on anyone on either team on a kick play.

Week 10 - LOLouettes @ The Back-to-Back Champs - GDT
I think the ball was tipped by Moore 44 so the DB had a right to the contact. Was a last ditch effort by O’Shea.
