  1. Key will be to make Rourke move and don't give up the easy ones underneath. He's done nothing the past two weeks when he had to move off his initial drop (sometimes where he takes the snap if it's a 5 step).
  2. They had the momentum after BC hit the one long one for 37 but then their defense held and cause BC losses. Then the next O drive they are driving in to tie, hit 3rd and 2 and instead of making it a 4 point game to put the D back out which had 4 sacks in the previous 2 BC series, try to get BC to jump, use a timeout, then run a play 3rd and 2, hand the ball over. BC scores and Dickenson goes all pass.
  3. Calgary handed the momentum to BC early in the 2nd half with the stupid 3rd and 2 play. Their D has also not adjusted at all.
  4. Just no coverage by Calgary on routes at that 7-10 yard depth and that's all Rourke is throwing.
  5. No ability to reset and throw for Rourke. Let him take the snap and stay at that drop, don't challenge the low intermediate routes and he's fine.
  6. Now Calgary going to forget the run here too.
  7. Literally every pass from Rourke is at 8-9 yard depth and Calgary is just sitting back. Sit at the sticks and make him throw the ball downfield. Pipkin wasn't ready for that hit. Now he's going to want to stick to the wedge.
  8. That's PI. Ball isn't deflected.
  9. Stamps D not going to win by covering turf. Had BC on the ropes and handed game back.
  10. Rourke hasn't thrown over the top aside from a pitch and catch on a double move. So drop out and play soft? Force him to throw by someone, not just right to his guy.
  11. Dickenson wastes a time out and 3 points. Need to play the long game here, don't let BC get to a point where they don't need the pass. Dickenson is not a great coach.
  12. There are other facilities, there are other weekends. Planning an event like this in August when the Bombers were firmly in first place and extremely likely to host a playoff game on this date was a major screwup by whoever made that decision. Completely foreseeable problem the organizer caused themselves.
  13. The East All-Star OL is worse than the Bombers OL, probably Calgary's too. Ruby and Rice aren't top 10 players in their position.
  14. Kind of shitty that the Grey Cup is being treated as incentive for potential owners and/or bailouts. Maybe time to reward the cities more that support the league and give some incentive to others to get on board, actually market their teams. I'd rather have a 9 year rotating schedule than the BS we have now.
  15. Riders 5th in the West next year. Don’t care who they sign.
  16. It fits Hufnagel’s dry humor type personality perfectly though. The reason it was effective is because it’s so unexpected.
  17. What a waste of reps to have a guy like Dom Davis, or even Pipkin for BC, in these games. This is why no QB's are developing.
  18. Yeah people get soft to cold when they live in places like that. Can recall being in Vancouver and Arizona where locals were wearing layers and I was in shorts and t-shirt. In Arizona we were loving the outdoor pool while everyone else was in jackets.
  19. I don't think he's necessarily their best chance to win in current condition. Calgary will run a bunch of zone blitz at him I'd bet if he does play. He won't have the mobility to get to where he needs to get to so he can throw downfield and he seemed to have a real hard time with the throws that needed more from his lower half last night.
  20. I liked that Oliviera for all the personal accomplishments last night was most excited on the play when he took the Lions MLB head up to create the space for Prukop to run for 20 yards.
  21. I get that piece but they can be honest too. TSN headline is literally “mission accomplished” for Rourke’s return. Guy couldn’t get any velocity on a ball over 10 yards and got chased down by a 290 lb DT on a scramble. I get how bad they want it to happen but they also have to be realistic and cover the actual game on the field.
  22. Seeing how slow Rourke’s running and lateral movement is at this point it’s insane to me they think he can be a positive factor in a playoff game. And I still don’t know why he’s risking reinjury. He has everything to lose and playing at 70% he’s not going to be better than the average QB they have to replace him.
  23. The team doesn’t give a **** they just need the guy cleared. I don’t get Rourke’s representation and why they’d risk the NFL money. There are a bunch of teams that don’t even have starters and he’s definitely better than a bunch of guys who are backups. He’s proven that over half a season. He’s a NFL #2 for sure. The deal with the NFL now is to have a rookie QB to max the cap around the field to have a chance to win. Would you rather have a guy coming out of NCAA you’re drafting at 18-19-20 or bring in a guy who’s played pro for 3 years as a “rookie?” Now return early to play at 7:30 PM in Winnipeg late October with weather approaching freezing…makes no sense to me. They are risking tens of millions of US dollars.
  24. So decline the option and sign a new contract. Rourke will sign the first NFL deal he sees otherwise in the window. There's nothing compelling guys to come back in the option year window now too. They used to have 10 days to sign with a new NFL team if they were cut and had to sign to active roster. Now nothing. Rourke wouldn't sign a new deal. He's headed south. Think they would move Darby back and use Kramdi at SAM if they needed to. I'm sure Cole could play SAM too.
  25. Liegghio got screwed IMO. Grant had some big ones but was not overly consistent this season, injured obviously for a good chunk.
