Donald Trump
Also, here's how screwed up things are in the states: people in Cincinnati having to wait hours and hours in line to vote. How long does it take to vote in Canada? (This is just a portion of the line, which extends more than a kilometer)

Donald Trump
The astonishing thing about Hillary Clinton is that the Republicans have been tossing nothingburgers at her for years now -- how much time and money did they spend investigating Benghazi? And they haven't made any of it stick. So, either she is a Professor Moriarty-level evil supergenius, whose plans are so perfect that the authorities are powerless to stop her. Or the people who are prosecuting her are utterly incompetent. Or, perhaps, the charges against her are horseshit.

Former Als Player Goes Off On Alouettes Gong Show
I was sure that AC was going to be the HC next year. Totally fits the Als' mode of making moves that are more splashy than sensible. And those good Als teams were way more than just Calvillo. Sure, he made the whole thing go but they were stacked at every position, especially during the Trestman years.

2016 Team Awards Announced
Glad to see Jennings got the team nod from the Lions. He's going to lose out to the robot from Calgary, but he was sure exciting to watch this year, and if he tidies up his game he's a surefire future MOP. Great young QB, love to see those guys coming into the league.

Just love that we're rostering four draft picks from this year.

How much data does a game on cjob run?
Don't know the bitrate that CJOB uses, but if they broadcast it as a ok-quality MP3 that'd use about a megabyte a minute, or about 180MB for the whole game. And I'm certain they're not broadcasting with that kind of quality. I'd guess their bitrate is a third or a half of that, and then half that again because CJOB will be broadcasting in mono, not stereo. So it's going to be a few tens of megabytes at most.

I remember back in 2000 when Tom Brady was behind Michael Bishop on the Patriots' depth chart ... very poor recognition of talent there.- Winnipeg Blue Bombers Fans Choice Awards
Medlock, Leggett, Loffler, Loffler, Bond, Medlock They've got Mayo listed to fill out the rookie category ... he only played five games, but he was just shy of a 1000-yard pace, with 277 yards in those games. Was always impressed with him when he was in, hope he sticks around.- Around The League Regular Season Discussion
It's completely stupid that the CFL is okay with letting players go on the field and risk lifelong injury, and yet it gets its panties in a knot about players doing club drugs. ******* puritans.- In Case You Missed It - Loose End & Pieces

Great report, Sammy. One of the best things on MBB.- Week Of @ BC Game
Speaking of receivers, gotta love the way Denny has played his way back onto this team. 7 TDs in eight games and he's starting to trademark that corner route to the endzone.- 3 stars plus HH
Just getting to rewatch the game now and my HH goes to D for the convoy they set up for Leggett on his first quarter pick. On that single play, he gets great blocks from Randle, Burnett, Loffler, Heath, Westerman, Cole, and Shologan. Just love watching this team rally. Our guys know how to flip from D to O in a hummingbird heartbeat, we're getting lots of practice running those picks back.- 3 stars plus HH
The media was reporting that the Edmonton starting job was an open competition back in 2013. http://www.ctvnews.ca/sports/nichols-reilly-duel-for-qb-job-as-edmonton-eskimos-open-training-camp-1.1307690 Man, Nichols was snakebit in Edmonton -- concussion in 2012, gruesome ankle break later that year, blows out his ACL in 2013, then he's out of favour with Chris Jones in 2015. Nice to see a guy put the bad luck behind him. I seem to recall that back before his leg injuries, Nichols had some serious wheels on him, he could get downfield in a hurry.- Drew Willy
There was one game in particular that made me a Willy fan -- the 2015 Week 6 game against BC. We'd gotten completely owned by Edmonton the week before because Willy got hurt early and Brohm came in and brohm'd it up. Against BC, Willy came back early from his injury and played super gutsy football, rushing for 72 yards even though you could tell he was in pain, and we beat BC pretty good. Watching the way the team responded to having him out there, he really did look like a legit QB and leader and core of the franchise. Obviously that's not the way it worked out, but Willy earned a ton of goodwill from me with that game and that's why I'm rooting for him to get his game sorted out. Sadly, that was basically his last hurrah as a Bomber, his season-ending injury happened the next week and the next time we saw him it was 2016.- Bombers/Esks GIF Thread
- GDT: Edmonton @ Winnipeg
Was it the Roughrider receivers who did Eskimo somersaults in the endzone after a TD last week? Loved seeing that. Win the game, take everything from them, including their celebrations. Leave them with nothing but their regrets.- September 21 - 22 Practise
The Bomber Buzz blog noted that instead of having Adams and Randle playing field and boundary last week, Hall just lined them up on the left side and right side, so no surprise here.- In Case You Missed It - Sept. 22 StatStuff
- Week Of @Calgary Game (Injuries, Practice, etc)
Like this "week of game" thread, good idea Noeller. That'd make Richards the first guy off the bench -- but I wonder who would be the emergency WR7 behind him? Fogg maybe, or Lochard if we need a Canadian? Perhaps some Tuck in TE sets? We needed all seven receivers to beat Toronto, so it's not too far-fetched to think we might have to go that deep again.- Medlock the Mising Link
and note that my view doesn't consider Medlock's impact as a punter. My impression is that he's near the top in net yards per punt but cfl.ca doesn't make that stat easy to find.- Medlock the Mising Link
Medlock has kicked at least two field goals in every game in our win streak, except for the Banjo Bowl, where he only kicked one. If we take two of those FGs away in each game (and don't turn them into enemy TDs or our rouges) then we go 6-1 instead of 7-0, with the lone extra loss being the LDC. Love the guy and how he helps peck teams to death, but is his impact overstated? I think our ballhawking D deserves the biggest credit for our turnaround. It'll be interesting to see what happens when those turnovers dry up. (edit: but yeah, the medsiah name is pretty awesome.)- Around The League Regular Season Discussion
Who would want to be the Als head coach after what happened to Tom Higgins? It's bad enough when a boss thinks they can do your job. It's even worse when the boss wants to do your job. Plus you've got local legend AC lurking in the wings. I suspect that the long-term plan (such as it is) is for AC to become the head coach and that Popp made himself the interim guy so that there'd be no awkward contracts or coaches hanging around when it comes time to elevate AC.- Around The League Regular Season Discussion
Talking about the pressure on Cato ... man, playing quarterback must suck so badly. Your success is entirely dependent on other people. If you've got a crappy OL or receivers who can't get open, you're just hooped, but you can't point fingers or make excuses because then you look like Casey Printers. A goaltender can look good even if the team around them sucks badly. A stellar pitcher is a stellar pitcher no matter how bad their team is. But even the best QB is helpless if their team isn't any good. - Darvin adams getting healthy, who comes out?
