I'm laughing out loud at folks who are pretending they know that BC's rushing Rourke. Internet DR's pretending they know what they're talking about. Rourke may or may not be ready by the last game of the season on the 29th. If he's ready then he'll play. If not, he won't. I can't imagine that the Lions would force him back on the field before he's ready. That'd be crazy and they're not crazy.

I'm a big Rourke fan, but you can't give him any awards because he only played 9 games. Collaros is a lock for MOP & Schoen is a lock for ROTY. I could easily see the CFL giving all the other awards to non-Bombers.

PLAP haters want to change the discussion to QB development? HAHAHAHA. Who cares if a HC develops young QB's? MOS didn't and never will, he's a pretty good HC dontcha know? To develop a great CFL QB, you first have to find one and that's the scouts/GM's job. Streveler is the last one we brought in and before that it was Ralph Dieter Brock. Streveler developed enough to be in the NFL. PLAP didn't get fired because he didn't develop a QB. He got fired for his win percentage as it should be.

Even Calgary, who I think are the 2nd best team in the league right now, wouldn't have done any better than 0-3 against Wpg, Wpg, BC with Rourke & they've only lost to us and BC. Trying to pin that on PLAP is the definition of weak mental gymnastics. Evans, Elliott & Brink are terrible QB's. I doubt anyone could have developed them.

I think Ottawa would have won 3 more games with Masolli instead of Evans/Arbuckle. That would put them in 3rd place in the East. PLAP doesn't get fired now, maybe not fired in the off season.

Lose to Wpg by 2, Wpg by 7, BC with Rourke by 3, Riders & lose Masoli in game. Most teams in the CFL would be 0-4 in that situation. That's close games with the two best teams in the league at the time then lose your starting QB. I don't think most teams win with Caleb Evens as the QB.

Folks around here told me that HC's should get 3 years to make the playoffs if they inherit a bad team or maybe that's just MOS after applying 20-20 hindsight.

VAJ's best game in a long time. He needs to run to be effective and he did. I thought the Lions "Salmon going up stream" TD celly was hilarious. Hey PLAP... if your team scores FG's and the other team scores TD's, your gonna lose. No advantage to canning PLAP until the end of the season. Good coaches have jobs & no one else should own any part of this years team's performance. BC - TOR next week will be a big game to see if BC under VAJ is still a top club or if they're just beating up on bad teams like the redblacks.

Calgary has the best QB situation in the league by far. Maier backed up by BLM. It makes them the only team where an injury to the starting QB wouldn't make much if any difference. Every other team is one hit away from QB disaster.

That's what happens when a bend don't break defence has a bad day. It becomes a bend and break defence. Nothing to see here unless it happens again next game, then we'd have a problem.

I'm not sure how Cornelius recovers a ball that was behind him, but that means you are right & I'm wrong. It was called a fumble and recovery by the Elks. Flame away folks.

It's not trolling or inciting or ranting or nonsense to say the right team should get the ball. It's completely logical.

Player safety? Sure, the extra 2 seconds on 2 or 3 plays a month are a player safety issue. Talk about a blowingly stupid thing to say. The reality is that the right team should always get the ball. If Refs on the field get it wrong, then the CC should be able to give the ball to the right team. 'No clear recovery' doesn't come into effect until after the whistle has blown. So, yes, the whistle is a big part of the problem. If they don't whistle until their has been a clear recovery, then the right team gets the ball, which is the only fair way to do things. You like to whatabout other plays instead of dealing with the play the Refs got wrong in the first place. I'm not talking about other plays and you know it. FTR: The Riders had chances to overcome the bad call, but that doesn't change the fact that their was a bad call that gave the wrong team 7 undeserved points. I say the rule is wrong because the wrong team gets the ball & it can be fixed without changes by simply waiting for the ball to be recovered. Last night the Elks got 7 points they didn't deserve because the refs got the call wrong & won by 2. In our Stamps game, we got 3 points we didn't deserve from a wrong call by the refs & won by 2. That's 2 games in the last month or so that have been won in a large part by a bad call by the refs giving the ball to the wrong team that couldn't be fixed by the CC.

You could, but it's easier to simply hold the whistle until the fumble is recovered. Still has nothing to do with the play in question.
