That game was hard to watch. Ottawa took 14 accepted penalties for 204 yards, while Edmonton chipped in with 13 for 105. Add in stoppages for turnovers and challenges and you end up with a close yawn fest. The Burris rant and the amount of punishment Reilly can take were the highlights. BTW when did they change the rule on hitting the upright on a FG? Used to be if you hit it and it went in you got 3. Hit it and it went into or through the end zone you get 1. Hit it and it comes back out and you get nothing. Now you get nothing if you hit it and it goes in or through the end zone. Could have been the difference in this game.

Cuz Winnipegers are cheap and they don't like the idea of not getting their money's worth out of Willy. Also, it's bad form to have highest paid player on the team being a $400K+ backup insurance policy.

The Redblacks have the top offense in the league and a top half of league defense. The Esks have the second best offense in the league and one of the worst defenses. Hopefully a high scoring close game, but I have to think that an extra week will go a long way to fixing Burris's problems and the Redblacks will prevail.

Jennings is a very good young QB for a 24 year old. He's still learning the position and he's putting together some wins. He was 84.4% completions for 331 yards against a very good Montreal defense. What do folks expect from a young QB around here? I'd take him over any of our QB's. The Stamps game was close until the 4th when the Stamps scored 16 unanswered points and Messam ran for about 75 yards. If you like to watch the Riders lose, just tune in again next week as it's back to back.

I'll bet that Willy's contract has way more guaranteed money and way less bonuses built in. One 'source' said he got over 100K up front this year. Again, I have no idea if it's true or not.

No, but the amount of bonus money that Nichols will get did. I saw a tweet that said Nichols gets $100K bonus if he starts 6 games. Now, I've got no idea if that's true or not, but I have to believe that his contract is bonus laden.

That surprised me too. I wouldn't have put Masoli back in after the half.

Some concern, but not a lot because we were sitting on a lead in garbage time. A bigger question to me is why were Nichols and Harris still in the game late in the 4th quarter? An injury to either one could completely derail our season.

I don't understand how it could happen in the first place. The refs should have thrown a flag on the first play when the ratio wasn't right and continued to throw one every time they did it. The refs just need to do their jobs.

Depth certainly doesn't appear to be our problem. Some of the new guys are better than the guys they replaced and it will become a good problem for management when the injured get healthy. Their sure were a lot of complaints about our scouting in the off season, which seem to be completely wrong.

It means the players salary is removed from the SMS and the player can't practice until week 4. That's hardly nothing.

First game... yawn fest. First time I'v seen Regina play so badly this year. Montreal came to play and absolutely dominated for 60 minutes on a short week without 2 of their top receivers or their #1 RB. Second game... Best game of the season so far. Two very good teams trading blows all night long. Jennings showed some great things then showed his inexperience by throwing a late pick that the announcers said he was trying to throw out of bounds. I don't think he was, otherwise it wouldn't have been that close to the receiver. Then, in OT no less, he tried to force a ball in that he had little chance of completing. That Int definitely cost them the game. By look on Wally's face, he was livid. I wouldn't have wanted to be in the locker room after the game. Still this game proves that BC and Calgary are the two best teams in the West.

I like what Reilly did last week. I want my QB to get in the faces of the OL when they allow the same stunt to get to him twice for big hits. I want my QB to get mad when he's taking punishment.

Love Frederick's game last night, but my shout out goes to Loffler. Big hits all night and he kept Bowman from catching at least 2 deep balls.

A win this week bought O'Shea time. At least until we've played Regina twice.

One of the 3 stars should be given to the O line. They opened up some big holes for Harris, got to the second level and mostly protected Nichols.
