Should Ricky Ray Retire (On A High Note), Or Keep Trying To Go Beyond 40?
I think and hope that Ray sticks around. He's a great QB and great for the league. A competitive Toronto team is good for the league.

Around The League: 2018 Offseason
Calgary - A smallish changing of the old guard is coming. The core will be the same, but Messam and others are going to be replaced. Edmonton - Franklin gone, but they'll try to keep the rest as intact as possible. They're close to being the best team in the league and could pull past Calgary next year. Winnipeg - Re-Sign our guys, fill a few holes where we lose FA's and pick up a couple of FA's. Consistency is still the buzz word. Even Hall is likely back next year. Regina - My guess for Franklin's new team, which means Glenn is gone. Should also be a bunch of other turn over as Jones loves to bring guys in. BC - It comes down to what Wally does. If he stays as GM or GM/Coach then their won't be a lot of change. If he doesn't then blowing up the whole thing is a very real possibility. Jennings gets another chance. Lulay is done as a QB and goes into coaching. Toronto - Ray stays. They continue where they left off this year and look like the cream of the East. Ottawa - Goes big in FA. Only a few pieces away from being a good team. Harris will be better next year. Hamilton - June Jones is back. Callaros is gone. My guess is to Montreal. Big turnover on this team too. Montreal - A bunch of old guys including Durrant gone. New coaches. New attitude. Big players in FA.

What was your best Grey Cup ever?
I looked it up, and you're right. I guess I merged the good things into a single memory. Stupid old age.

What was your best Grey Cup ever?
The Michael Gray INT was one of the sweetest plays ever. After so many years of almost good enough, we finally won the cup. Would have been my best memory, but I didn't make it to that game in person.

What was your best Grey Cup ever?
'90. Was at the game on the 50 yard line about 15 rows up. My wife worked for the company who made the GC rings, so everything was comped from the tickets to the parties. Down on the field after the game watching the presentation and talking with the players. Great week.

When do we fire Richie Hall?
Fair enough. Personally, I think that the number of all stars we have, the FA signings and the drafting shows that Walters has mostly done a good job. Not perfect and the scouting still needs work, but I think he's giving the team the players that we need to win games.

Around the League 2017 - Playoffs
They are going to get sued anyway. Lying and denying won't stop that. The NFL settled for $1 Billion. The CFL will eventually have to pay ex-players.
-
When do we fire Richie Hall?
4 years without a playoff win. How many more years do you think we should have to wait for a playoff win or a Grey Cup berth or even a Grey Cup win? Hint: Toronto did the first 2 in 1 year and have a shot at the third tomorrow.

CFLPA All-Star Team
The players chose a players coach? What a surprise.

Around the League 2017 - Playoffs
Deny and lie. That's what happens these days. How 'bout admitting their's a problem and working towards a solution? Nah... Folks would call you stupid.

When do we fire Richie Hall?
I don't want to go back to the disasters of the past. I want to move forward to winning playoff games and eventually the Grey Cup and I'm not convinced that MOS is the HC to get us there.

Bombers Re-sign Neufeld and Hardrick
Only cuz you asked... Hardrick - Excellent signing. Part of the heart and soul of our O line. Neufeld - Perennial backup who has started 3(?) games in the last 2 years. Pretty good when he's healthy, but has been injured every(?) season that he was a starter. I'd guess he's one of those guys who lined up looking for a contract at Walters door. I hope we didn't pay him a bunch and I hope that one of the younger, cheaper, guys beats him out for his 6th O line spot next year.

I think the Refs should follow the rule book and never call it, unless contact is made or the ball is snapped. The mistakes are the ones where the Refs call it early.

I'm not satisfied with the progress. I was hoping for a playoff game year 1 and expecting one year 2. I was hoping for a playoff win year 2 and expecting one year 3. MOS gave us 2 years out of the playoffs and 2 years of one and done so far. I have to wait at least until year 5 to get the playoff win I've been expecting since year 2. (Don't tell my my expectations are out of whack, Jones matched them with Regina and Trestman matched them with Toronto this year). Getting rid of O'Shea, which shouldn't happen this off season, doesn't mean blowing everything up. We have a solid core of players that we'd keep when we change out the HC. As for PLAP... I didn't like him as our choice for OC, but unlike 17, I can see that he's done a very good job. He still make some dumb mistakes like not sticking with what's working, but overall, he's been just what we needed. Other teams will see that and he has HC experience, so I expect him to get at least one HC offer in the off season. The money and prestige are one thing, but the ability to make all the decisions himself will probably be the reason he takes a HC job. The Edmonton version of Deeboy would mock the Edmonton version of TBurg and tell him not to mock back. The Edmonton version of TBurg would mock back anyway.

Who is saying blow it all up? I'm simply asking... Are we progressing as fast as we should be and do we have the right guys in place to take the next step? I'd get rid of Hall and I expect PLAP to take a HC job. Those 2 changes may be enough to get us over the hump, or they may be the death of the MOS era.

23 points down. 3 TD''s, 2 with 2 point conversions just to tie AND we have to hold Edmonton to 0 points during that time frame. Yah, that's points after beat down. Been watching the CFL for 50 years. I don't remember the last time we came back from that many points down in the last 8 minutes, especially in a playoff game. Edmonton went into soft zone. Kept everything in front of them. Just made tackles and forced us to take time off the clock. On offense, they mostly ran and threw a few safe passes to make sure they didn't turn the ball over, which was about the only way we had any chance of coming back in the game. This group has 2 years without the playoffs and 2 years of one and done. Using that progression, we'll get 2 years of winning a playoff game then 2 years of wining the Western Final and 2 years of the Grey Cup. Just 4 more years to wait.

I'm not, but the guys mentioned aren't DB's, so they wouldn't have helped the breakdowns that allowed Edmonton to get up by 3 TD's in the first place.

The Consolidated Bitchfest Thread
You think we get those last 16 points if Edmonton needed to stop us? You think that Edmonton would have tried to simply run out the clock if they needed to score?

Typical SPUDS. Whine about my posts and bring up 'red herrings'. I'm not going to recap the entire season and point out all the things that should be taken into consideration. No one does that. I will say that injuries played a part in this season, but every team goes thru them. The better coaches and GM's manage to win thru them. Under MOS, we got to the playoffs in his 3rd season. He still hasn't won a playoff game after 4 seasons. We were closer to winning our playoff game last year than we were this year. Is that actually trending upwards? If you go by playoff wins, and I'll take playoff wins over regular season wins, then you have to say the Riders had a better season this year and are trending upwards even more than we are. Compare MOS to Jones, who took over as bad a team. He got into the playoffs in his second season and won a playoff game in that season and he's got a chance to win another one next week. Compare MOS to Trestman who took over as bad a team. He not only got into the playoffs in his first season, he got first in the east with a better record than MOS got in either of his first 2 seasons. He also has a chance next week to win a playoff game.

A couple of things that no one is talking about: Last year, we were 1 first down away from a 50 yard FG to win the game. This year we were down by 3 8 point TD's with only about 10 minutes left in the fourth quarter. An extra win during the season is nice and all, but are we really going in the right direction when we're farther away from winning the WSF than we were last year? Sometimes the HC to take a team from horrible to competitive isn't the kind of HC you need to get over the hump from competitive during the season to winning playoff games. Are the current group the right folks to get us over that hump?

2017 Team Awards
This could be fun, let me try it out: MBRG, huffing some blue koolaid.. TBurgess makes some good points better make up something he didn't say then make fun of it, then I'll call it pure gold.

2017 Team Awards
Nice try, Mass did it with up to 21 players down. MOS starting losing when we had 3 starters down. You want to go simply by wins? OK, then it's Dickenson. I don't downplay everything positive, I just don't see how anyone but a homer would choose MOS for COTY when there are better choices. I do wonder tho.... Why my opinion riles up 3 or 4 people around here so much.
