So many good players... and a home GC... and a GM that doesn't build thru free agency. *sigh* Have fun today Blue Bombs, I doubt it'll be that fun for Double Blues.

I'm having a difficult time believing this... but the Ottawa REDBLACKS are going to be in a Grey Cup.

neither look like championship caliber teams in that first half. the winner will be the team that stops gift-wrapping yardage thru penalties.
  6. Relax. Westerman wins it without getting out of second gear.
  7. thanks for posting this, Heel. it bares out what my impressions were in general (Edmonton and Ottawa have been solid while the Argos have been middling) but I was surprised that Hamilton wasn't higher
  8. No no no, football players, especially quarterbacks only have so many hit points and we used up all of Willys before he had a change to regenerate some. NNnnnneerrrrrrrrrrd!
  9. Two minutes and three first downs after kickoff, there's still more people outside waiting to get thru Rogers new security measures than there are inside.... Three more months in this dump.

You may lose context, but generally, I read through all of the posts anyways. One quote is neater (not taking into account using multiquote). As noted with these ^ selections, 2-3 quotes should be plenty to get the gist of what is being said. Otherwise you might actually have to (gasp) manually look back. 3 seems okay to me.

I heard Ray was throwing 45 yard bombs in practice a few weeks ago. they don't look like bombs. but he plays 40 yard games of toss. i'm no doctor (but i play one with my girlfriends), but i reckon about 4 weeks. he looks great otherwise, very fit (for him).

Not if a Grey Cup is your goal. Harris (Flutie forbid) getting a sprained (insert body part here) in late October scotches that for us... unless a legend wearing #15 comes off the bench.

Speaking in generalities: -Trevor Harris is 29. He has seized the moment and his time is now. If he uses the next four weeks (or thereabouts) the same way he's used his last 5, then you couldn't demote him to backup. -Ray now has the time he needs to make a full recovery and continue to rest his body. This increases his future value. His past two and a half seasons of play has been among the best QB play that the league has ever seen. Two more seasons (not unreasonable given good protection and good fortune) would cement his place in history and the records books. -The Argos are trying to win it this season, so obviously, no trade gets made. -Likewise, they will try to win next season and would like both players back... it's possible, but will depend on what the plaers, agents and teams want as well as health, luck, etc... Reaslistically: -The Trevor Harris era began in week 1 -Ray will renegotiate to a smaller deal to backup in Toronto, or another of what could be several teams will try their best to lure him away -Milo and Barker will get whatever they want, so i'm good. Nobody gets Ray this season. There's nothing that anyone could offer Barker to make it happen short of giving him your best National, International and 1st rounders (ie: grab your ankles, Jimbo is going in dry)
  15. thought we'd killed that evil place off... don't make me come back over there, Colin... lol jk, i wouldn't waste my time in that backwater hole

...i felt a disturbance in the force...
  17. odd... i would describe Ray (at this stage of his career these last few seasons) and Harris as almost prototype CFL Pocket Passers...
  18. you obviously have no idea what sort of fans we have.

  20. had as much time as he wanted to pass against us. we failed to pressure him in any way. Shoulda texted him that his girlfriend was pregnant. With triplets. a friend has 1 year old triplets. all girls. there's pressuring someone... and then there's just inhumane cruelty.
  21. had as much time as he wanted to pass against us. we failed to pressure him in any way.
  22. i'm shocked you'd ever have a gif of a Rough Rider winning a fight so decidedly
  23. because if you get his head wrecked again too soon there starts to be a law of diminishing returns on this sort of thing. and if you've got a potential long-term #1 in Willy (i think he can be), you use the kid gloves on him... ...or you wander through another long desert of Max Halls, Joey Elliots, Steven Jyleses, Alex Brinks, Justin Goltzes and who knows how many more false dawns until you get your next legit heir to Dieter.
  24. You're discussing the guy who might be your franchise for the next several years to come. Sit him. Be way more cautious than you think you ought to be. Let the O-Line, the blocking backs and the offence work it all out. Willy could even benefit from it. Ricky Ray said that sitting out a few games in 2012 and watching the Milanovich offence from a coach's perspective is what made it finally "click" for him. And when he was healthy and ready to go, he had a run-in to the Grey Cup for the ages. All of those aphorisms about the CFL season not really beginning until Labour Day have some truth to them. The West doesn't look so strong that you can't afford to eat a loss without your #1 on the field.
