  1. Imagine that, you're not a fan of an evaluation that basically tears apart your entire bias towards Marve. And this number you came up with? What is the point of that? It honestly means nothing.
  2. Why so much extrapolation of incredibly small bodies of work? Do we really think decisions should be based off of 10 snaps? It's never as simple as "Marve scored a TD, Portis didn't" and while I prefer Marve easily over Portis, there's an entire further depth of reasoning as to why. Yes, Marve is exciting. No, that's really not all that important. Yes, he has shown to be capable of making something out of nothing. Unfortunately, he has not proven himself capable of taking something given to him. He hasn't shown the ability to make throws at a high level of consistency from the pocket. But he seems like he is aware of it and is going to take steps to head in the right direction with that aspect of his game. Yes, he has put points on the board in awkward situations. No, that's not going to continue once teams start to gather film on him and are able to prepare for what he brings to the table. Not until his work from inside the pocket improves. Fact is we're looking at it and trying to argue 4 of 9 vs 6 of 8 and that's not what the debate is at all. What was their process? How was their footwork? Regardless of an incompletion or a completion, was it the right throw to make? A nice throw? Did they read the coverage properly? Are you confident that they make the best play at a higher frequency than their competition? It's not as simple as "two touchdowns is better than two field goals" - granted it is, but how was each scenario achieved? What happens if an Argo safety blew a coverage on one of Marve's plays and Brohm had drives stall because of missed assignments by his receivers? It's never just about evaluating the results in training camp - the coaches are going to evaluate the process. I'm confidently of the mind that Marve stays over Portis, but I'm not sold on him over Brohm yet because the simple fact is he's likely not able to be as good of a fit within our offensive scheme until he shows more progress in the pocket. He needs to be able to produce without being on the run so that he can be MORE productive going forward when he IS on the run. Otherwise, he'll quickly become an easily defended one trick pony.
  3. Also hoping they thin the roster a bit more by the end of the weekend and don't just hide guys on the IR. I would like to see a far more defined roster by the time we kickoff next week.
  4. Really surprised they cut Allen and Lamar, thought they both did well in game 1. Even more surprised Patrick Hall is still on the team, though.
  5. Comments like this make me wonder if people often forget that this is a guy's career we're talking about.
  6. I'm hopeful. Our line has some solid road grading lineman that know how to run block now. Chungh seems to be capable of being an adequate run blocking lineman if Neufeld can't go, definitely more suited to that than pass pro in the early stages of his pro career. Picard has made his mark in the CFL as a run blocking beast. Bryant is just an all around awesome lineman. ... I'm hopeful.
  7. The roster currently has 85 people on it. Yeah, you're right my sheet is wrong. Anyways, I figured some guys will go to the IR like - Stoudermire, Neufeld, Dile and West (what's the deal with him?) So my list would be RB Randle (or RB Scott) FB Cronk (or FB Fritz) DB Hall DB Kearney DB Franks LB Taylor There. That'd be a lot of money to put on the 1 game IR right off the bat.
  8. I don't think anyone is going to get much out of the stream for RB performance. It'll all be about how they grade out on film with following their blocks, pass protection, who followed their assignments to a tee. One or two carries a guy isn't going to teach them much at all, especially behind a revolving door OL.
  9. The roster currently has 85 people on it.
  10. Could also be Cronk instead of Fitz if they view him as less versatile.
  11. Sounds like the Bombers need to make between 8-10 cuts by Monday to get down to the 65 man limit. Not sure of how many counters they currently have, but it's at least 73 and seems to be no more than 75 if I have it right - which I'm not sure I do. I'm also not sure they can hide people on the 1 game IR yet so anyone being hidden would have to go on the suspended list (which I guess is the same thing right now) or the 6 game IR. If I had to guess right now ... DB Patrick Hall RB Bradley Randle DB Vernon Kearney LB Dominique Franks LB Curtis Taylor OL Corey Lewis P Anthony Santella WR Justin Veltung WR Ezra Millington FB Carl Fitzgerald I'd imagine these are a few of the prime candidates. Thoughts?
  12. Impossible to rank Anderson that high ... he had ONE carry as a running back, we haven't seen anywhere near enough work. However, the return game is where he created value for himself. I don't think he's at the bottom anymore, he's put his name in the discussion. But now he at least deserves another opportunity against Hamilton, in my opinion.
  13. So TB ... I'm curious if you're still going to stick to your opinion given that Carlos Anderson would've likely been one of the guys they wouldn't have brought if it was up to you. He was probably the 4th or 5th RB going into the game and now where does he rank? What about as a return specialist? THAT is why you bring everyone and give them a shot.
  14. Shaq Richardson was very solid, Allen had good numbers but a lot of them were compiled late in the game. Johnny Adams seems to be who we thought he was. Patrick Hall was awful, Curtis Taylor (Curtis? I forget) was forgettable, Tony Burnett was ... just there. Wasn't thrilled with the pressure from the DL at all - looks like another season in the making for Greg Peach potentially. I liked Carlos Anderson, but he was really only what I'd call the best of a bad bunch at the tail back spot. Didn't really get much of a chance to get going though, so let's hope it was a bad day. Offense was really hard to evaluate, but OL looked strong. Especially Chungh and Goossen.
  15. He's definitely ... dedicated. lol
  16. Darrin Bauming and company will have exclusive interview audio on the pre game show on TSN1290 at about 5:45 with Richie Hall and Marcel Bellefeuille. I was given the impression it'll definitely be worth listening to.
  17. MTS or Shaw. My understanding is Shaw itself isn't covered, only Shaw GO (Shaw's mobile TV service) is covered. Seriously? That's ridiculous.
  18. Well I'm definitely going to have to look into this because I was planning on getting a jersey this year.
  19. If you believe practice time can influence the depth chart that severely, why would you be so against letting each of those guys get game reps? Makes no sense.
  20. Can we add in the part where he shares his opinion and then defends it by saying "it's just a statement of the facts"? Also ... This x1000. We've had plenty of guys who don't look great in practice come in and make their mark come game time. Plenty of the opposite as well. If you're not even going to give a guy a chance at some game reps, why did you bring him along this far in the first place?
  21. Nike isn't MUCH better, but yeah adidas is absolutely horrible. Can't remember much of their football stuff off the top of my head but ever since they took over the NBA, the uniforms have been ****ing garbage. and any company who produces this is a joke anyways
  22. Its the way you write your posts that makes me skip over them usually That's preferable to whining about them. For a guy who always says "argue the post, not the poster", you sure do have an interesting habit of always turning everything into a personal matter. Just wish you were a little more honest with yourself, not even with us. It doesn't take a rocket surgeon to observe the fact that you love the role you play around here as the forum agitator.
  23. Players don't improve. Ever.
  24. Gordon is at wideout behind Adams.
