  1. Will Ford, a few nice runs and a TD
  2. Does the West dominance continue now with Sask and Toronto? Quick score for the Riders.
  3. I voted yes but I do wonder how long his rope is. Very good chance we don't make the playoffs this year with the conference we are in. Do we have to make them next year, the year after before people start calling for his head? When the Wild came back to Minnesota, took them 10 years before they stopped selling out and a winning team mattered more to the bottom line.

After years of suffering through horrible teams, I think a lot of people are still waiting for the bottom to fallout. We will see what this team is really made of after Labour day. But you are right. We are 4 -1, just spanked BC in BC. Didn't even give up a TD. Lets enjoy it.
  5. Reported attendance was around 25k
  6. JFG was nursing an injury. Not sure if he dressed or not, but he was injured.
  7. I don't, because if we had him we were less likely to have traded for Willy. I have seen Kevin Glenn, and I'd rather sift through other QBs to find "the one" then settle for Glenn. Kevin Glenn sits 10th in all time yardage and the longevity he has had in this league shows his ability. The problem with him is he can't take a team on his shoulders and take control of a game. He needs a spectacular defense and weapons around him that allow him to be a game manager, and not the game winner. He is the absolute last QB that I would choose to lead a last minute drive when the game is on the line. 9 times out of 10 he will throw the pick.

We've also scored the most points in the league

It was 3 years ago today that Richard Harris suddenly and tragically passed away. Thought I'd make mention of it since this website's moniker comes from him. Great coach and more importantly, great man. Rest In Peace, Richard Harris.
  10. Be sure to join us in the chat room this evening during the game!
  11. If he was reffing last nights game, that means he shouldn't be involved in ours tonight. And that can only be good news.

Be sure to check out this week's instalment. Bring your gin for this one! http://morningbigblue.com/community/blog/4/entry-30-odds-and-sods-2014-no4-edmonton-eskimos-vs-winnipeg-blue-bombers/
  13. With a combined 7 wins last year, this year's two undefeated teams at 3-0 each go head to head. Clash of the titans, and there can be only one who remains undefeated after tonight. Looks to be a fantastic day weather wise, with a temperature of 28 degrees Celsius and a SW wind at 14 KM/H come game time. For those not at the game (and really, if you are in town, you should come to the game to help reach our first sell out), join us in the chat room come game time.
  14. Canadian law has nothing to do with American precedent. The NFL lawsuit and payout will have absolutely nothing to do with the CFL. It is real tough to stretch back that far. You have to prove that the CFL knowingly let people play with concussions and knew that it would be damaging to them. Back then, concussion science and knowledge was no where near to what it is now.
  15. So, let's say Bruce wins & gets $5 million in damages that's a hit of over half a mill per team. If it's upwards of $10 to $20 mill, you do the math. More? The floodgates will open. Keep laughin', guys. Who says he is getting $5 million. Who says he even wins. You just pulled that number out of thin air. I say he gets $5k. Now it doesn't look so bad. You get million dollar verdicts with punitive damages, and punitive damages are very difficult to prove and receive in Canada. And who is laughing? Why is it whenever someone disagrees with you, you take it so personally? No one has said that this is a joke, it is just not the slam dunk you think it is. Canada is not the litigious society that the States are.
  16. Since this lawsuit is in Canada and not the States, if any damages are awarded, it won't be anywhere near what they could get in the states.
  17. Used to be the CFL did have a salary cap exemption. One per team for marquee players and it almost bankrupt the league.
  18. Nothing compares to being there live, screaming and cheering with 30,000 of your closest friends for a Blue Bomber win.
  19. Found these tweets interesting, the first being that the KHL salary cap is going down, this is good for the future of retaining NHL players. The 2nd is that Burmistrov's salary is exempt because he is considered valuable to the league! Wonder what their criteria is for exemptions, is a player per team or something else.

I'll give you a B- …….but only because you didn't show your work. But I did show my work! Sentence by sentence.

I don't know what the rule is on the crossover, but I think it is mathematically possible to have a double cross over. But unlikely. Suppose the Eastern teams all lose all of their games to the West. With 5 Western teams, that is 10 losses for each Eastern team. Now suppose one of the Eastern teams wins all of their Eastern games, that puts them at 8 - 10. And if one of the Eastern teams also loses all of their Eastern games, that puts them at 0 - 18, that leaves the remaining Eastern teams with a record of 4 - 14. Since all of the Western teams won at least all of their games against the East, that puts them at a minimum of 8 wins, and better then the lowest 3 Eastern teams. And that is all of the Math that I feel like doing for the day....
  22. I don't know if he gets cut but he's gotta be conjuring up some memories of Kamau & Adarius Bowman for Glenn! I think he is safe now.

  24. Absolutely no to both. What happens when the cap is hit, it is open season on all players to do whatever they want? Thats ridiculous. If players can't play a clean game, they deserve the penalty. They shouldn't be fined either. Reffing is one of the toughest and thankless jobs out there. Their performance should definitely be measured, assessed and graded. And if they are found wanting, then demoted / fired. And that should be done behind the scenes and not made public.
