Tough crowd here this morning

Be prepared to be ripped apart for agreeing with someone the consensus doesn’t like on here.

I’ve always found it funny how BC produces tons of great football athletes, has a well run UBC team, Minor football is fairly popular, but yet attendance to the pro games are low.

No discussion allowed! Either everybody thinks the same way or the odd man out is completely wrong! (This is sarcasm by the way)

Well it all started the other day when this was brought into the thread and I stated my opinion. Scary I know. When people question, I’ll defend it and so on and so on. You dont have to like it or agree with it, but don’t go projecting your view on something because someone said something you disagree with. It’s a thread made for discussion, just gotta deal with it sometimes.

It’s obviously not a huge issue, but it does look a bit silly when a kick misses, goes through the end zone and you get a point. But ya the cfl game is way better.

So I don’t mind it if it’s caught in the end zone and returnable then it gives the option of return or give up the point. But a straight miss that goes through I find silly. That’s a direct miss, doesn’t give an option for a return.

I don’t disagree with you at all, but this really is more that I just find the single point silly on missed field goals and nothing about nfl vs cfl

So going by that logic, can a team bomb a throw into the end zone? The ball made it into the end zone right? I saw someone talk about only single point if the player receives the missed field goal in the end zone and doesn’t return it out and I agree with that, but one that misses and goes right through, I find it silly to reward them with a point.

You’re right it is 3 down football. Doesn’t mean every rule it has is a good one. I think we will just agree to disagree on this one.

Obviously you hope for 7 but when you go to kick a field goal, the drive technically isn’t over. But why should missing a kick give a point? I find it silly.

So hit the field goal and you get the 3 points. Miss it and well should’ve hit it then.

Fair but we can still appreciate the origins of the game but change rules that don’t apply as much to football. If it wasn’t for changing rules we wouldn’t have the game we love today.

But it’s not really a reward for a missed touchdown. The team still had a down and can go for it. The single point on a missed field goal is a direct reward for a miss.

Sounds like a “them” problem

But why cap? If a team wants to pay a player 50% of the cap, let them that’s their problem. The league is going to realize soon that a larger % of revenue is needed. They can’t rely on new leagues failing.

I’m hoping that the league will start to realize that the cap will need to go up. With rules like this, new leagues and the ability to attract top tier talent, they don’t have many options left
