So then, you can't say that for the development of Dom Davis he should get a week of first string reps while Nichols just stands around. It'll never happen. For one, CFL offensive practices don't work like that. There's no equal opportunities given. Second, that would take away reps from your starter which never is a good thing. That is how I understood your remarks & I could be wrong. Davis is going to have to make the best (or the least) of his opportunities when he does play. He'll have to be ready to go when called upon. Am I happy we have an inexperienced player backing up Nichols? No. One hit & suddenly the entire season will ride on his shoulders which will not be good.

Davis won't get starters reps if Nicholls is ready to go. Doesn't work that way. Matt will continue to get 90% of the reps. Davis will only get those reps if Matt cant play.

Nope, we take our lumps at the qb position & go from there. I don't want us to give up starters or draft picks for a rental player who is the highest paid qb in the CFL. & wouldn't re-sign here in the off season. The Bombers decided to go with an inexperienced backup in Davis so we live with him. You could promote LeFevour to #1 & try him. But Collaros in a trade, no way.

You're assuming it's Mike Kelly. I may be wrong but I'm not convinced that is him posting. If it is, he is entitled to his opinions.

It's never on the player. It's always on the coach, Hall. Every week he puts Sam Hurl in a position where he can't have success thru both scheming (how he is positioned & used) or Sam's physical talent. He can't do the job so he has little impact on the outcome of a game. I know Sam wants to do well. I'm sure that he prepares harder than the others around him, practices hard & wants to be successful but that doesn't mean he will. I feel bad for him. Thanks to Ritchie Hall, Hurl seems to be the whipping boy for this defense & it's not fair. Hall deserves to be that whipping boy & not Sam Hurl. He plays where Hall tells him to play & tries to do the best that he can.

See now, that's the great thing about this place. We can say or discuss whatever we want, even if some don't like it.

I was thinking the same thing about Hall. What has he done to justify still being employed at the end of this season? LaPo OTOH has built a great offense & resurrected Matt Nicholls career. He has done a great job even with his quirky playcalling at times like not using Harris last night for some inexplicable reason. Hall not so much.

This is a very good offensive team. It's been a bad defensive team all the years O'Shea has been here. We've never had a DC capable of ever building a great defensive team. Until that happens this will never be a great team.

You can't compare the Bombers to Calgary. Unless you agree to compare Alex Singleton to Sam Hurl.
