Around the League: 2018 Season
QBS stand in there often times defenseless. They are hit or blindsided because some left tackle or guard missed or got beat on his block. The CFL & NFL already have rules in place to protect receivers from headshots. How many here would stand there & be willing to be pancaked? Not many so I kind of laugh at the supposed courageous tough talk by some who don't like it.

What the NFL is trying to do is eliminate the pancake tackle where a defender usually 280 lbs or more hits the qb & then lands on top of him leading to shoulder & arm injuries. As the father of a former qb who had his collarbone broken while playing for the Rifles back in 2010 when a Regina Thunder DT did just that I can't argue against it. Some tacklers also twist the qb exposing their shoulders & then fall on them almost guaranteeing some kind of injury.

I don't hate to say this but I really don't care about your team's road trip.

Province Portion of IGF Debt written off
We got a beautiful new stadium & that's all I care about. Living in Calgary we are light years away from a new football stadium.

Turned down opportunities to go to a contender where he could win a Cup. He was a good hockey player but maybe a little too comfortable in Phoenix.

That only works for so long. It doesn't usually hold up in the playoffs when teams are better.

And we've seen yours. My advice is don't be so arrogant putting down Nichols because Collaros will crush your heart. He isn't playing well at all. Your wins are coming by smoke & mirrors & that won't go on.

SASKATCHEWAN 7-5 @ TORONTO 3-8
Well, now you're nitpicking. If a ball bounces left it's good luck? If right it's bad luck? What if it bounces straight back then no luck? If someone says the Bombers are unlucky then I say they need to practice harder, prepare harder & play harder than the other team. If it's about talent then I can accept we lose because we don't have enough talent. Or the talent we have is overrated,.

You've gone full meltdown. I can support some of the things you say but not all of them.

Matt Nichols - YAY!!!!!!!!!
How anyone can say we're the worst team is completely exaggerating the situation. Montreal is the worst, then comes Toronto. I'd put us at third worst right now & there's a big difference between #9 & #7.

Well, it isn't even football discussion anymore. It's just anger & rants.

Believe me, Dee... Luck can be created by hard work & preparation. That is what I believe.

J5V needs to chill. He doesn't even post for fun anymore. He posts because he's angry so every post is the same. We're all angry with the way this season has gone but there has to be limits or it will consume him.

It just came to me. Along with another old cliché, "You can't control everything so control the things that you can. Like how you play." Actually, I think that cliché about luck does explain a lot. I think great players & great teams create their own luck. They have such unwavering belief in themselves, their teammates & their coaches that when things get tough in a game they believe that they can't lose. Maybe not always but even when they lose they still believe. And they win more than than they lose because of that belief or mindset. How many times have we seen bad teams fold when the going gets tough? They don't have a belief system of winning & it's is not part of a bad team's culture.

Please stop quoting Skunk. I have to read it as he's been blocked. I only see his posts when they are quoted.

BOMBERS -Playoffs - ESKIMOS Out
We just had a gimmee against the Alouettes so it all evens out. Wally a better head coach? Maybe in 2005 but not now. He's disengaged on the sidelines. The game is constantly evolving & he looks like it's already left him behind. At times he just looks like he's going thru the motions. Don't for one minute think it was Wally who rallied the troops. As far as assistant coaches go for the Lions, there really isn't one coach there that I'd want here. Except perhaps for Reinebold as he is a good STC.

I didn't think that was even possible.

Punted for a single point instead of a 45 yard FG. He played conservative so as not to lose instead of to win & guess what? He lost.

Wally just looks so disengaged on the sidelines. Only HC who doesn't use a headset.

I have to give Glanville his due. He has figured out the CFL game & is a darned good Defensive Coordinator.
