  1. As long as the fumble and subsequent advancement of the ball isn't considered intentional, it's a perfectly legal play. If there's a fumble, you can't bat the ball forward with your hand intentionally, but you could legally advance a fumble forward by performing a dribble kick (section 17). With that said though - I thought he advanced the fumble intentionally...which is definitely illegal.
  2. For those interested in a little CFL playoff history: Largest CFL comeback playoff history: Nov-09-1963: Saskatchewan overcame a 26 point differential deficit against Calgary after losing game 1 35-9 and won game 2 39-12. They advanced based on point differential (48-47). Back then, two games were played and if the playoff series was split, the winner advanced based on point differential. Largest comeback in single playoff game: Nov-20-1960: Ottawa overcame a 20 point deficit to win 21-20. So yeah, barring historical, record-setting playoff comebacks not seen in 50+ years, Lions are toast.
  3. Interesting fact (according to TSN 1150) the 8-10 Ti-cats are the only team in league history to have a positive points for/against differential, losing record, and host a playoff game.
  4. How much of this is Ti-cats waking up, and how much is BC being completely unprepared?
  5. Welp... early on BC is looking like a typical crossover team. I know in the playoffs anything can happen, but there's good reason no crossover team has ever played in the Grey Cup.
  6. Only two things more important than the run battle in a cold weather game like this...the turnover battle and of course, the final score.
  7. I just meant nothing would shock me at this point, this is the same team that signed Trent Richardson and Vince Young...
  8. It's all a ruse. I wouldn't be surprised if Tate started tomorrow.
  9. It was actually a 61-yard attempt. Anyone watching that game knows it was the monumental second-half collapse that caused them to lose that game, not the missed field goal attempt.
  10. As a superstitious statistician, this is exactly my point.
  11. By definition this thread shouldn't start until tomorrow, no?
  12. Nick Marshall is a Saskatchewan cornerback (#3) - I don't think he's got the name wrong. The fact that SSK has two players with the same last name doesn't help the whole sleeps-with-their-own-cousins stigma thing they have going.
  13. Literally from page 4 of the Saskatchewan Roughriders 2017-2018 annual report: "The members of Rider Nation flocked to the stadium that day and throughout the season, helping us sell out the pre-season game as well as the team's first seven regular-season contests before weather conditions affected ticket sales late in the campgain. Thanks to the fans, whose support made this tremendous facility possible, the Green and White led the CFL in scanned attendance in 2017 for only the second time in our history." Source: https://d3ham790trbkqy.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2015/11/SaskRoughriders_AnnualReport1718_web.pdf Only the Riders would think being 1st in attendance 2 years out of 107 possible times is a good ratio, oh and this was also on the coattails of your shiny new toilet seat (ahem) stadium.
  14. I love CFL football, but what is with playoff football on Remembrance Day? Show some respect CFL...
  15. I don't think the quality of handwriting has anything to do with this problem.
  16. They like two divisions because it makes for important divisional games near the end of the year. Under a single division, the race this year wouldn't have been nearly as tight. Not saying it's right - just I think that is their logic. Personally I think they should keep two divisions, but remove the one-team limitation for the crossover rule, that would mean this year both EDM and BC would make the playoffs crossing over through the East, and the worst of the three (HAM) would've been eliminated. I agree it's stupid for a sub-.500 team to host a playoff game.
  17. But... but.... he didn't have 300 yards...
  18. HH to Drew Tate for not signing with us and gracing his presence elsewhere.
  19. Literally when I read that name I just associate it with "when Calgary was bad".
  20. Although the playcalling is suspect at best, that is largely his role in our regular offense, so I don't have any problem with that - for this year. If it persists though and becomes chronic then it is absolutely a problem.
  21. Here's the clip of Ben Cahoon kicking a FG in overtime against the Argonauts on August 2, 2007: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NoPHuQsdGzE Here's the box score of the next game (August 9, 2007), where Ben Cahoon had two touchdowns: https://www.cfl.ca/games/1419/calgary-stampeders-vs-montreal-alouettes/ What am I missing here?...
  22. I call BS. Ben Cahoon did it in 2007, I'm sure there's other examples.
  23. I guess the logic here would be they could celebrate a .500 season? 9-9 does sound better than 8-10, though missing the playoffs is still missing the playoffs. No issue with him being a jerk to their backups - they're a divisional rival let their team crash and burn all they want.
  24. Playoff games are meaningful absolutely, that said I'm just going to have to agree to disagree at this point - I don't want to hijack this thread with such a menial argument.
  25. Why? Both clubs know this game is meaningless, it doesn't even affect how we finish in the standings. This game, and its results are nothing more than a formality.
